Work/life Balance:
We offer a Monday–Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Benefits Administrator to join our People Operations team and serve as a key contributor to the employee experience. In this role, you will administer and optimize our benefits programs, act as a trusted resource for employees, and help ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies. Essential Functions:
- Administer and manage all employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), HSA/FSA, wellness, and voluntary benefits.
- Manage and process leave of absence requests, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other medical or personal leaves, ensuring timely documentation, employee communication, updated HRIS system, and legal compliance.
- Conduct monthly benefit-related audits and reconciliation of bills.
- Coordinate and act as a liaison between insurance brokers/insurance companies.
- Act as the first point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, resolving questions with accuracy, empathy, and timeliness.
- Lead benefits orientation for new hires and support benefits-related components of onboarding and offboarding, including COBRA administration and life event changes.
- Coordinate open enrollment annually, including communication, system updates, vendor partnerships, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate records in benefits platforms, HRIS, and payroll systems, ensuring timely updates to benefit elections, deductions, and eligibility data.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, ERISA, and FMLA.
- Partner with benefits brokers and vendors to review plan design, escalate issues, and support renewal processes.
- Support audits and filings (e.g., 5500s, nondiscrimination testing, ACA reporting) with complete and compliant documentation.
- Craft and deliver clear benefits to support employee understanding and engagement across all levels.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices, proactively making recommendations for continuous improvement.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
- 2–4 years of experience in benefits administration or a generalist HR role with a strong benefits focus.
- Deep understanding of benefits, compliance requirements, and healthcare/insurance terminology.
- Experience with self-funded health insurance
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, Workday, Paycom, BambooHR, UKG, etc.).
- Strong communication skills—clear, empathetic, and professional across all formats.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HR or benefits-related certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, CEBS).
- Experience coordinating wellness initiatives or employee engagement campaigns.
- Familiarity with DEI-forward benefit strategies and inclusive benefits design.
