Job Description
With technology and data at the core of our people strategy, we are looking for a systems-oriented thinker and team leader to join our People Experience Team (HR) as a
Workday (HRIS) People Data Manager. The role is responsible for managing, optimizing, and continuously improving people data processes across the full employee lifecycle in Workday’s HCM module. You’ll serve as a strategic partner to business stakeholders across HR, IT, Finance, Legal to ensure Workday HCM supports our strategic people priorities and operational needs with data integrity, streamlined and scalable processes along with optimized use of automation, reporting, and agent technologies. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
HRIS - Workday HCM:
- Oversee the end-to-end data management processes including leading the configuration, enhancement, and ongoing optimization of Workday HCM across Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Talent, Performance & Goals, Learning, Employee Listening, and Recruiting.
- Drive continuous improvement of Workday HCM and business processes from onboarding through offboarding, including workflows, automation, audits, and data integrity controls.
Data Governance & Integrity
- Act as a data steward by being accountable for people data governance, including quality audits to ensure accurate, consistent, and compliant people data in Workday.
- Partner with IT, Finance, HR, Legal and Compliance to identify and resolve data issues and strengthen data integrity.
- Embed data quality checkpoints into reporting, visualization, and data interpretation processes.
Workday Business Processes & Integrations
- Design, manage and optimize Workday business processes, workflows, and controls to ensure transactions are properly evaluated, audited & documented.
- Lead bulk data conversions, such as Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) activities as well as data integration activities.
Workday HCM Reporting
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Workday HCM reporting and analytics.
- Design and deliver advanced, matrix, and dashboard reports with complex calculated metrics that support operational excellence, decision-making, and compliance.
- Assess reporting needs and recommend system or process improvements to meet business requirements. Manage and control user access on new/existing workday reports.
AI, Automation & Self-Service Enablement
- Partner with IT to expand Workday self-service functionality, automate key HR processes, and develop user enablement materials and job aids.
- Identify and scope the use cases of AI for automation with Workday HCM, including workflow optimization, reporting, audits, alerts, and data validation.
- Explore and test generative AI tools to enhance Workday data management and automation capabilities.
Consulting & Business Partnership
- Act as a trusted advisor to HR leadership and cross-functional stakeholders by understanding business needs and delivering efficient, user-friendly Workday solutions.
- Collaborate with global teams on initiatives related to compliance, legal requirements, system enhancements, and user experience improvements.
- Lead and mentor a team of HCM specialists to ensure efficient and effective ongoing management of the Workday HCM process portfolio.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years of hands-on Workday experience.
- Proven success supporting HRIS Workday implementations, enhancements, and integrations, with strong experience managing business processes and interfaces.
- 5+ years of management and/or project management experience.
- Functional expertise in HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Learning, Employee Listening, and Talent & Performance/Goals.
Skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Workday certifications are preferred.
- Excellent people data management and governance skills.

- An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
- The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
- You will be eligible to participate in Sandisk's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
