Responsibilities

Manage and perform general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet analysis.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and accuracy using software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
Conduct financial data entry with precision, maintaining comprehensive records for audits and reporting purposes.
Support compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements through diligent documentation and internal controls.
Utilize payroll management systems like Workday, ADP, Ceridian, or UltiPro to process payroll accurately while ensuring adherence to tax regulations and labor laws.
Perform month-end closing activities, including account analysis and reconciliation of the general ledger.
Assist in budgeting, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support organizational planning initiatives.
Collaborate with internal teams on governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices when applicable.

Skills

Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
Proficiency in financial concepts including debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
Experience with payroll systems like ADP or Kronos for payroll processing and management.
Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and internal controls.
Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; capable of handling 10-key typing efficiently.
Solid understanding of GAAP standards and governmental/non-profit accounting practices.
Ability to analyze financial data critically while applying strong math skills for budgeting and credit analysis.
