Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing all accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts, accounting software, and industry regulations such as SOX and GAAP. The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our financial data, supporting timely payments, and assisting with various accounting functions to support organizational financial health.

Responsibilities

Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders using accounting software such as Workday, SAP, or QuickBooks.
Ensure all accounts payable transactions comply with SOX controls and GAAP standards.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Prepare journal entries related to accounts payable activities and maintain accurate records for audit purposes.
Manage vendor relationships, including onboarding new vendors and maintaining vendor master files.
Assist with month-end closing processes, including general ledger reconciliation and analysis of accounts payable data.
Support payroll management tasks using systems like ADP, Kronos, or UltiPro when applicable.
Maintain data entry accuracy with high-volume processing, including 10 key typing tasks.
Collaborate with the finance team on internal controls, audits, and compliance initiatives related to accounts payable functions.
Support benefits administration, non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, or other specialized financial functions as needed.

Qualifications

Proven experience in accounts payable processing within a corporate or public accounting environment.
Strong knowledge of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation.
Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms; experience with Workday or Paychex is a plus.
Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and GAAP standards.
Experience with payroll management systems like ADP or Kronos is advantageous.
Excellent analysis skills coupled with attention to detail for accurate data entry and transaction processing.
Knowledge of tax regulations and benefits administration is desirable.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $25.62 - $30.86 per hour
