Position Summary
The Workday HCM Specialist is responsible for the configuration, administration, maintenance, and optimization of DMA’s Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) system. This role ensures data integrity, supports HR process automation, and partners with HR, Accounting, IT, and business stakeholders to deliver system enhancements and reporting solutions that align with organizational goals.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Administer Workday HCM modules, including Core HCM, Absence, Recruiting, Time Tracking, Benefits, Compensation, and Payroll. Serve as the subject matter expert for these modules, maintaining and configuring business processes, security roles, and system integrations to support organizational operations.
- Design, build, and maintain advanced reports, calculated fields, metrics, and dashboards for stakeholders at all organizational levels. Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and deliver analytics that support strategic business decision-making.
- Maintain security roles, permissions, and access withing the Workday system to ensure data accuracy and user access. Conduct regular audits, perform validations, and troubleshoot issues as they arise to ensure compliance with company security standards, as well as relevant global, federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage system updates, testing, and troubleshooting for Workday HCM releases, configuration changes, and ongoing functionality. Conduct impact analysis, testing, and validation of integrations and reports during releases and system upgrades.
- Partner with HR, IT, and Accounting teams to design and implement process improvements and automation. Identify opportunities to optimize processes and transition functionalities from manual or external systems into the Workday HCM environment. Provide recommendations for technical solutions to gain process efficiency, reporting capabilities, business process design, software, and other related features.
- Track integrations accuracy, timeliness, and reliability, addressing complex issues across Workday and connected systems.
- Provide ongoing support to end users, including training and documentation to facilitate effective use of the Workday HCM system and to maximize system adoption and utilization.
- Participate in cross-functional projects involving Workday functionality and data flow to ensure alignment with organizational needs and the product roadmap.
- Monitor overall system performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimization, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of Workday HCM solutions in supporting business objectives.
Education And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience with Workday HCM configuration and administration.
- Proficiency with Workday business processes, EIBs, calculated fields, reporting, and security.
- Strong understanding of HR processes, data management, and compliance.
- Experience with data analysis, report writing, and system troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Workday Pro certification or equivalent experience preferred.
