Hormel Foods - General Production Laborer
Location: Alma, KS
Shift: 2nd Shift (Monday-Friday, 2PM-10:30PM; extended hours and weekends may be required)
The General Laborer supports daily production operations at Alma Foods by performing a variety of manual tasks in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining product quality, ensuring safe work practices, and keeping production areas clean, organized, and running efficiently.

Responsibilities
Assist with production line activities, including loading, sorting, and packaging products.
Operate basic manufacturing equipment and tools as trained.
Monitor product quality and report any defects or concerns immediately.
Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with food safety and OSHA standards.
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety procedures, and plant policies.
Support sanitation tasks such as cleaning equipment, floors, and workstations as needed.
Perform routine material handling, including lifting, moving, and stacking products or supplies.
Work cooperatively with team members and supervisors to meet production targets.
Complete any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor to maintain efficient plant operations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Perform repetitive hand & wrist motion throughout a shift.
- Lift/push/pull 50+lbs as required (Occasional)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks for extended periods to perform job related tasks.
- Kneel/squat as necessary to complete job-related tasks.
- Grasping & pinching motions to complete job-related tasks
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

- Must be 18 years of age or older

- Position requires working in temperatures below 40F.
- Standing/walking on concrete for a majority of the workday
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $21.15 per hour plus $1per hour shift differential for 2nd shift, 1.5 times rate for hours worked over 40 in a week
