The HR Technology Manager serves as the functional expert responsible for optimizing, governing, and enhancing Workday’s core modules globally, including Core HCM, Talent & Performance, Recruiting, and Compensation (with Learning, Time Tracking, and Absence preferred). This role partners closely with the Senior Manager, HR Operations; Director, HR Operations; and key business stakeholders to ensure Workday is fully leveraged to support firm‑wide strategies and operational excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as a Workday subject‑matter leader, providing strategic guidance to HR and business leaders on Workday capabilities, best practices, and scalable solutions.
Manages key Workday functional areas supporting global business processes including but not limited to:
Performance Management: self‑evaluations, performance reviews, goal setting, calibration, and succession planning
Recruiting: global offer letter and contract generation, candidate SMS communications, and the expansion of additional recruiting functions within the platform
Advanced Compensation: directing annual compensation cycles (merit, bonus, promotion) and ensuring effective ongoing management of the core Compensation module
Learning: course governance, reporting, and compliance tracking
Time Tracking and Absence: implementations and enhancements.
Partners with global HR, business, and functional stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and deliver Workday process improvements that drive efficiency, scalability, and an improved user experience.
Directs the development and continuous enhancement of Workday dashboards, reporting, and analytics to support executive‑level insights and data‑driven decision‑making.
Leads end‑to‑end system enhancements, including requirements definition, configuration oversight, biannual Workday release management, testing strategy, documentation, and deployment execution.
Contributes to and influences change‑management strategies by assessing impacts, aligning stakeholders, and supporting communication and user enablement efforts.
Collaborates with IT and HRIS partners to ensure seamless integrations, reliable data flows, timely issue resolution, and functional readiness for downstream system dependencies.
Evaluates and leverages AI capabilities and emerging technologies to improve operational efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance overall Workday functionality.
Provides day‑to‑day people leadership, including coaching, performance management, and development of junior HR Technology team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
Oversees HR Technology project management activities, ensuring effective planning, cross‑functional coordination, risk mitigation, and successful delivery of initiatives aligned to business priorities.
Partners closely with Senior Manager, HR Operations on strategic project initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in HR systems management, with a strong focus on Workday functional ownership and configuration.
People leadership experience—including coaching, mentoring, and developing team members—is preferred.
Strong understanding of HR operations and data management, with the ability to translate business needs into system solutions.
Proficiency in Workday configuration, security, reporting, and business process design, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills, with proven success collaborating across cross‑functional teams and influencing stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve conflicts effectively, fostering collaboration, maintaining professionalism, and navigating complex stakeholder dynamics with sound judgment.
Highly analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work flexibly, including occasional overtime when needed to meet project deadlines or support time‑sensitive initiatives.
