General Purpose and Objective of Position:
The Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) is a senior lending position.
The position’s general purpose is to serve as the primary mortgage contact for Pathfinder FCU. This position solicits and maintains leads for residential mortgage consumers in addition to a professional network to gain referrals. This position performs complex transactions that involve analyzing prospect financial condition, credit data, creditworthiness, and security interests. Additionally, this person will assist prospects and current members in determining which financial solutions best meet their needs, provide financial counsel and advice related to PFCU products and services.

Legal Requirements:
- This position requires that the employee be at least 21-years-old.
- This position requires that the employee present, upon hire, documentation that meets the requirements of the federal I-9 form.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience Requirements:

- This position requires that the employee possess prior knowledge, skills, and abilities related to: General finance and accounting (fiscal management); direct legal and regulatory compliance; basic accounting processes (AP/AR); HR management; Marketing implementation; IT strategies; and overall policies, procedures, practices, and operations implementation.
- This position requires that the employee possess college-level reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
- This position requires the employee to hold a valid Wyoming driver’s license, insurable driving record, and the ability to drive for company business.
Education/Certificates/Licenses/Registration Requirements:
- This position prefers the employee to possess an Associate degree from an accredited college/university with emphasis in: business, leadership, finance, accounting, economics, marketing, or other as approved by the Chief Executive Officer.
- A combination of certifications, formal college, and experience may be substituted for a college degree.
Training Requirements:
- This position requires that the employee complete or produce all required training and certifications at the beginning of their employment, and on an on-going basis throughout their employment.
- Each employee is required to attend all new-hire training, certification courses, as well as all on-going scheduled and un-scheduled training and recertification courses.
- If the employee is assigned as a trainer of a specialized class which requires certification, they must complete all requirements to maintain that certification.
Equipment Requirements:
- This position is required to use the following company-owned equipment: computer, phone, fax, printer, scanner, copier, laminator, printer, hole punch, CRTs, calculator, debit-card machine, and appropriate PPE.
- If the employee is required to use any specialty equipment, they will be trained on its safe and appropriate use.
Cognitive/Verbal/Physical Requirements:
- This position is cognitively and verbally intensive; and requires stamina and endurance that can handle extended periods of: sitting, thinking, concentrating, problem-solving, interacting, and communicating with others, talking (on the phone and in-person), typing, writing, reading, computing, and arithmaticing, as well as, occasionally standing, walking, lifting, for the duration of a work assignment (approximately 95-100% of the workday).
- This position requires that the employee read, write, type, speak, and expertly comprehend the English language.
- This position requires shift-flexibility; as shift duration is regularly between eight and ten hours per day and can be extended (depending on the daily workload).
Typical/Potential Environmental Exposures:
- This position may encounter various indoor or outdoor environments.
- Most environments are climate-controlled and indoors; however, the employee will be exposed to slick or dry surfaces and/or hot or cold temperatures for outside errands, activities, and events.
- Environments can also vary in level of stimulation and noise due to fluctuations in customer traffic and activities.
Essential Duties/Functions of the Position:
- Provides mortgage origination services in the State of Wyoming.
- Creates and maintains sales pipeline for the mortgage department of PFCU.
- Manages the member and prospect mortgage loan process from start to finish, including obtaining all necessary application documentation, credit documents, security interest documents, et al.
- Analyzes application information for necessary follow up, supporting documents et al.
- Promotes PFCU mortgage solutions by participating in marketing and promotional activities internal and external to the credit union.
- Cultivates mutually beneficial relationships with builders, investors, realtors, and title agencies.
- This position requires the employee to cultivate a needs-based approach to member service with individual coaching and/or goal setting, to ensure credit union and individual goals are met while expanding member relations.
- This position requires the employee to ensure the branch is compliant with federal laws and regulations set forth by the NCUA and other regulatory agencies.
- This position requires the employee to work with auditors and the Supervisory Committee to ensure compliance with internal controls.
- This position requires the employee to collaborate with senior management to create and support promotions and strategies to meet the credit union’s goals.
- This position requires the employee to participate in credit union business development opportunities and community relations activities.
- This position requires the employee to exercise the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
- This position requires the employee to accurately follow all verbal and written instructions.
