Job Title: Lead CarpenterJob Overview:
Lead Carpenters are a vital part of DM Construction & Remodeling, Inc. Lead Carpenters are skilled and motivated in overseeing projects from start to finish. The Lead Carpenter is responsible for managing job sites, coordinating crew tasks, ensuring quality craftsmanship, maintaining safety standards, and delivering exceptional customer service. Lead Carpenters have in-depth knowledge of rough and finish carpentry as well as refined skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
· Perform skilled carpentry work including framing, finish carpentry, cabinetry, flooring, siding, decking, and trim installation.
· Coordinate daily job site activities and project schedules.
· Train and mentor carpenters and laborers.
· Communicate effectively with homeowners, subcontractors, suppliers, and management.
· Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to company quality standards.
· Maintain a safe and organized job site.
· Identify and resolve construction issues as they arise.
· Manage materials, tools, and equipment needed for projects.
· Lead and supervise construction crews on projects.
· Conduct final walkthroughs and quality inspections.
· Order construction materials as needed.
· Always act in a manner that represents the principles of DM Construction & Remodeling, Inc.
· No smoking on the job.
· Hold themselves and all carpenters accountable for their work, actions and appearance.
· Always dress in DM Construction & Remodeling tops.
· Maintain a good attitude.
· Layout and verify all aspects of the project.
· Clean the job site daily and lock it up.
· Set up dust control and prepare a project for each phase of construction.
· Assist other team members on other projects as needed.
· Complete misc. punch list items as needed to complete projects in a timely manner.
· Miscellaneous other duties as required.
Qualifications:
· Minimum five (5) years carpentry experience.
· Complete command of rough and finish carpentry skills.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Ability to learn and accept feedback.
· Ability to read/understand construction documents and blueprints.
· Ability to perform physically demanding work on a consistent basis, including lifting 75+ pounds, standing, crouching, using ladders, and working in all weather conditions.
· Neat appearance.
· Ability to pass a background check.
· Commitment to a 40 + hour work week.
· Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record.

Schedule:
Typical workdays are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Compensation & Benefits:
· Hourly pay: $22-$26 based on qualifications.
· Paid weekly.
· Paid Holidays: New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
· After 1 year of employment, 40 hours of paid vacation is awarded.
· After 2 years of employment, 80 hours of paid vacation is awarded.

Physical Demands:
Required to stand or walk over 75% of the time. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling may be required. Lifting 75+ pounds. Must meet vision requirements to obtain a driver's license.
Work Environment:
Working in wet or humid conditions may be required. Working near moving mechanical parts. Working in high or precarious places may be required. Fumes or airborne particles may be present at jobsites. Employees may work outdoors. Loud noise is typical for this job.
