Position Summary
The State of Georgia is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support stabilization, troubleshooting, and optimization of integrations between Workday and external benefits providers. This role serves as a critical liaison between business stakeholders, Workday functional teams, integration developers, benefits administrators, retirement system partners, and external vendors.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to trace complex employee, payroll, retirement, and benefits transactions across multiple systems, identify root causes, and drive issues through resolution. This position requires significant experience working with Workday HCM, Benefits, Payroll, and integrations during implementation, post-go-live stabilization, or production support operations.
Key Responsibilities
Integration Analysis & Troubleshooting
- Analyze and troubleshoot integrations between Workday and external benefits providers.
- Trace employee lifecycle transactions including:
- New hires
- Transfers
- Job changes
- Compensation changes
- Payroll events
- Benefit enrollments
- Contribution processing
- Terminations
- Investigate data discrepancies and determine whether issues originate from:
- Source data
- Workday configuration
- Benefit plan configuration
- Integration mappings
- Processing timing
- Provider-side processing
- Expected system behavior
- Review integration outputs, inbound/outbound files, logs, reports, transactions, and provider responses.
Requirements & Business Analysis
- Work closely with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand business rules and expected outcomes.
- Translate business concerns into targeted functional and technical investigations.
- Analyze integration mappings, transformation logic, and data flows.
- Document business requirements, findings, root causes, and recommendations.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with:

- Validate findings and coordinate corrective actions.
- Communicate complex technical findings in business-friendly language.
- Support cross-functional troubleshooting and issue resolution activities.
Testing, Validation & Documentation
- Validate defect fixes and configuration changes.
- Confirm transaction processing across Workday and external provider systems.
- Create and maintain:
- Data Flow Diagrams
- System Interaction Diagrams
- Business Process Documentation
- Root Cause Analysis Reports
- Integration Support Documentation
- Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term improvements.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting:
- HCM ERP Implementations
- Production Stabilization Efforts
- Complex System Integrations
- 3+ years of Workday experience including:
- Workday HCM
- Workday Benefits
- Workday Payroll
- Employee Lifecycle Transactions
- Workday Integrations
- 3+ years of experience with retirement or pension administration processes including:
- Retirement Benefits Configuration
- Eligibility Rules
- Contribution Processing
- Benefits Administration
- 3+ years supporting:
- Workday Implementations
- Post-Go-Live Stabilization
- Production Operations
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Experience analyzing:
