Seeking an experienced Accountant to support its finance team during a period of continued process improvement and system optimization. The ideal candidate will possess strong general accounting experience and have participated in a Workday Financials implementation, migration, or post-go-live support environment.
This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, analyzing financial data, and assisting with process enhancements related to Workday Financials and other ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly accruals.
- Perform month-end and year-end close activities in accordance with established deadlines.
- Analyze financial statements and investigate variances.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting documentation.
- Assist with financial reporting, audit support, and compliance requirements.
- Support budget preparation and forecasting processes.
- Collaborate with departmental stakeholders to improve financial processes and reporting.
- Ensure data integrity within Workday Financials and related systems.
- Assist with ERP optimization initiatives, system testing, and process documentation.
- Support ongoing enhancements, troubleshooting, and user adoption efforts related to Workday Financials.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve accounting procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Experience with account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
Highly Preferred:
- Experience participating in a Workday Financials implementation, migration, optimization, or conversion project.
- Experience with Workday General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Banking & Settlement, Procurement, or Financial Reporting modules.
- Experience with ERP testing, data validation, chart of accounts conversions, or business process redesign.
- Ability to bridge accounting operations and finance systems initiatives.
Preferred:
- CPA or CPA-track candidate.
- Experience in nonprofit, higher education, hospitality, or multi-entity environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
