What You Get To Do
The
Vice President, Total Rewards reports to the Chief HR Officer and has primary responsibility for leading the design, development, implementation and delivery of the compensation, health and wellness programs that support the philosophy and culture of the organization while ensuring the programs are locally competitive, cost effective and compliant.
- Establish and lead company-wide Total Rewards strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals and talent needs.
- Develop benefits strategies and manage current programs ensuring they are designed competitively, executed efficiently, and align with company goals (including but not limited to ERISA, non-ERISA, Absence Management including ADA and Deferred Compensation (401K) plans).
- Ensure that benefit plans are administered in compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations including, but not limited to, ERISA, DOL and IRS.
- Conduct annual evaluations of coverage and policies to assess cost effectiveness and competitiveness.
- Manage relationships with vendors, brokers and carriers, including the monitoring of cost, service levels, processes and accuracy of data.
- Lead negotiations and renewals with providers including governance, contract compliance, issues management, communications frequency, schedule and approach.
- Oversee the development and continuous improvement of all health and welfare, retirement, and wellness initiatives with a focus on innovation, employee experience, and value optimization.
- Partner with legal teams and the executive leadership on executive compensation packages.
- Manage job levels and job families, review and complete job evaluation requests to ensure market competitiveness, and conduct market research.
- Analyze compensation policies, government regulations, and prevailing wage rates to develop competitive compensation plans.
- Formulate recommendations for impending legislation / Statutory requirements.
- Develop and maintain documentation of Compensation processes and procedures.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of materials for the Board of Directors, including Compensation Committee presentations and executive summaries.
- Prepare Compensation Committee presentations.
- Administer Merit, Annual Incentive, and Equity programs.
- Remain current on industry trends, legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts.
- Serve as a thought leader and advisor to senior executives and HR leadership on Total Rewards best practices and strategies to attract, motivate, and retain talent.
What It Takes To Succeed
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field is required. Master’s degree or advanced certification (e.g., CCP, CEBS) strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in Total Rewards, Compensation, and Benefits leadership, including 7+ years in a senior-level strategic role within a complex organization.
- Experience working and communicating with senior and C-Suite leaders.
- Ability to interface and effectively present to all levels in the organization.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Workday experience preferred.
