Job Description:
The Sales Compensation Analyst is responsible for administering and analyzing sales compensation programs to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effectiveness.
This role requires collaboration with sales, finance, HR, and operations teams to manage compensation plans, commission structures, and incentive programs.
The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of sales compensation models.
Key responsibilities include calculating commissions, conducting audits, resolving inquiries, and optimizing compensation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Commission Calculation & Processing
Calculate and process monthly manual commissions based on established pay plans.
Prepare and distribute commission statements and payroll files within deadlines.
Maintain and enhance compensation calculation models and tools.
Process adjustments and exceptions fairly and consistently.
Audit sales performance data to validate commission calculations.
Address and resolve commission-related inquiries from sales personnel in a timely manner.
Research customer activity to clarify complex transactions and processes.
Record transactions in systems such as Pest Client and/or Xactly to provide sales credit for commission purposes.
Maintain detailed, accurate, and organized records of commission earnings, adjustments, and payouts.
Assist in audits of sales commission payments and conduct sales credit research to ensure compliance.
Review adjustments impacting commission payments to confirm alignment with compensation plans.
Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Document compensation processes and maintain detailed records for audits.
Partner with sales, finance, and HR teams to address compensation-related concerns.
Educate sales teams on compensation plans, policies, and payment structures.
Support sales leadership in forecasting and budgeting commission expenses.
Assist with system implementations and enhancements for sales compensation management.
Identify risks and opportunities within compensation processes and communicate them to the team.
Evaluate and implement process improvements to enhance pay plan administration.
Conduct compensation plan analysis and market research to support decision-making.
Provide detailed reports and insights to assess the effectiveness of sales compensation programs.
Build strong alliances with sales management and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, HR, IT, and Accounting.
Assist Finance and HR Managers with compensation-related matters.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 2-5 years in sales compensation, finance, sales operations, or a related field.
Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis).
Experience with sales compensation software (e.g., Xactly, CaptivateIQ, Varicent, Anaplan).
Knowledge of CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, Workday, SAP).
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to interpret data and derive meaningful insights.
Communication Skills: Ability to present complex compensation data clearly to stakeholders.
Attention to Detail: Accuracy in calculations, reporting, and data management.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
