Position Overview
This is a great opportunity for a data-driven professional with a strong foundation in financial modeling and advanced Excel. The Payroll Analyst role will serve as a key payroll and data analyst within the payroll function, supporting payroll operations while owning data integrity, reconciliation, reporting, and modeling initiatives. Responsibilities Of The Payroll Analyst
- Build and maintain financial models to analyze payroll trends, forecasts, and cost impacts.
- Support biweekly, multi-state payroll processing as a reliable backup.
- Reconcile payroll data with general ledger accounts and financial reporting systems.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and internal policies.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries with a data-informed approach.
- Collaborate with HR, benefits, and accounting to improve data flow and accuracy.
- Lead or assist with payroll-related audits and process improvements.
Required Experience/Skills for the Payroll Analyst:
- 2 - 4+ years of financial analysis experience with hands-on financial modeling.
- Advanced Excel proficiency is a must (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data validation, and formula-building).
- Experience in payroll operations or accounting.
- Strong analytical mindset with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and managing large data sets.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Payroll Analyst:
- Experience with payroll and HRIS platforms (ADP, Workday, etc.).
- Familiarity with multi-state payroll is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to payroll accounting and reconciliations.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required.
