Compensation Specialist We’re partnering with a leading financial services firm in Boston, MA, to identify a skilled Compensation Specialist to support their growing HR team. The Compensation Specialist will play a key role in administering and optimizing compensation programs, conducting market benchmarking and job evaluations, and ensuring internal equity across the organization. The role involves providing data-driven insights and recommendations on salary structures, incentive plans, and compensation strategies. The ideal candidate will bring 3–5 years of experience in compensation analysis or consulting, preferably within a complex, regulated environment such as financial services or life sciences
This is a 5+ month contract role, offering $50–$60 per hour based on experience. The position follows a hybrid schedule, with three days onsite and two days remote each week at the firm’s Boston office.Responsibilities:
Support the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs and processes.
Conduct market pricing and benchmarking analyses using relevant compensation survey data.
Develop data-driven recommendations on base salaries, bonuses, incentives, and overall pay structures.
Perform internal equity reviews and job evaluations to ensure consistency and fairness.
Assist in managing annual compensation cycles, including merit, incentive, and equity planning.
Prepare detailed compensation reports and analytics to inform business and HR decisions.
Partner with HR and business leaders to ensure alignment with established compensation policies and practices.
Collaborate with the HR reporting team to ensure accuracy and integrity of compensation data within HRIS systems.
Support compensation-related projects, including planning, coordination, and execution.
Provide ad hoc analysis and support as needed.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required
3-5 years of compensation experience in a highly regulated industry, with expertise in base salary and incentive compensation plan management
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
Experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred)
Strong knowledge of compensation laws and regulations, including FLSA
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Strong analytical, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
