Role Summary
We’re looking for an early-career Financial Analyst who is highly analytical, technically inclined, and exceptionally strong in Excel. This role is ideal for someone who is a true “sponge”- curious, eager to learn, and excited to build financial models, automate reporting, and dig into data to uncover insights.
You’ll support budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and ad hoc analysis across the business. You will be expected to work independently on well-defined tasks, while also proactively asking questions, improving processes, and identifying opportunities to make reporting faster and more accurate.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Build, maintain, and improve financial models supporting forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking
- Prepare weekly and monthly reporting packages including KPIs, variance analysis, and trend insights
- Support core FP&A processes such as budget vs. actuals reviews and forecast updates
- Partner with stakeholders to gather data and translate results into clear, actionable insights
Advanced Excel-Based Modeling
- Create clean, scalable Excel workbooks using best practices (structure, controls, checks, documentation)
- Use advanced Excel functions to automate analysis and reduce manual effort
- Build dashboards, charts, and dynamic reporting outputs for different audiences
- Maintain high standards for accuracy, error-checking, and version control
Process Improvement & Technical Enablement
- Identify repetitive manual tasks and improve workflows through automation and smarter templates
- Support data clean-up, standardization, and validation efforts
- Collaborate with team members to streamline reporting cycles and reduce time-to-insight
- Document models and processes so they can be reused and understood by others
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Data Analytics, Engineering, Math, or similar
- 1–4 years of experience in finance, analytics, consulting, operations analytics, or related internships
- Advanced Excel skills including:
- PivotTables / PivotCharts
- XLOOKUP / INDEX-MATCH
- SUMIFS / COUNTIFS
- Nested formulas and logical functions (IF, IFS, AND/OR)
- Data validation and error checks
- Power Query (preferred)
- Strong analytical thinking and comfort working with large datasets
- Strong attention to detail—high standards for accuracy and formatting
- Clear communication skills (written + verbal)
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Experience with any of the following:
- Power BI / Tableau / Looker
- SQL (basic querying)
- Python (pandas)
- Financial planning tools (Adaptive, Anaplan, Workday, etc.)
- Familiarity with accounting basics (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Exposure to forecasting, budgeting, or business case modeling
