Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations with precision and enthusiasm. Responsibilities
- Manage the complete payroll cycle, including data entry, calculations, and processing using payroll management systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro.
- Ensure accurate accounting of payroll-related transactions within financial software like QuickBooks or general ledger systems such as PeopleSoft or Ceridian.
- Reconcile payroll accounts regularly, including general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and tax filings.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable tax laws and governmental regulations related to payroll and benefits administration.
- Collaborate with human resources to administer employee benefits, leave policies, and time tracking through HRIS platforms.
- Prepare detailed reports on payroll expenses, deductions, and tax liabilities for management review.
- Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation related to payroll transactions and accounting entries.
- Stay updated on industry best practices in payroll management, accounting standards, and relevant legislation to ensure ongoing compliance.
Experience
- Proven experience managing payroll processes within a fast-paced environment utilizing systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos or UltiPro.
- Strong knowledge of payroll management principles combined with expertise in accounting software like QuickBooks or similar financial tools.
- Familiarity with corporate accounting practices including general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliation, debits & credits, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets accurately using analysis skills and attention to detail.
- Experience handling benefits administration, non-profit or governmental accounting is a plus.
- Knowledge of tax regulations related to payroll processing and experience working with HRIS platforms for human resources functions.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to perform data entry efficiently (including 10 key typing) while maintaining high accuracy levels.
- Strong understanding of technical accounting concepts relevant to payroll processing and financial reporting.
