Description
Seeking a hands-on, technically strong Workday HRIS professional with deep Workday Benefits expertise. This role is an individual contributor, not a people manager or purely strategic leader. The ideal candidate sits between HR strategy and technical configuration—but leans strongly technical.
This person will serve as a primary owner of Workday Benefits configuration, supporting open enrollment, ongoing benefits administration, eligibility rules, and vendor integrations, while also contributing across core HCM and Recruiting modules.
- 5+ years hands-on Workday configuration experience
- 3+ years Workday system administration ownership
- Workday HCM Certification(s) in one of more HCM modules
- Strong knowledge of condition rules, calculated fields, security groups, reporting frameworks
- Experience managing annual HR cycles (performance, merit, bonus, open enrollment)
- Strong cross-functional partnership skills (HR, IT, business leadership, vendors)
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex integrations
Workday Benefits & Open Enrollment (Primary Focus)
- Configure and maintain Workday Benefits plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, and voluntary benefits
- Own the end-to-end open enrollment lifecycle, including:
- Event setup and testing
- Eligibility and enrollment rules
- Employee communications support
- Validation, troubleshooting, and post‑OE cleanup
- Configure and maintain eligibility rules, benefit groups, plan years, coverage tiers, and contribution strategies
- Support life events, enrollment changes, retroactivity, and corrections
- Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders on:
- COBRA administration
- Carrier feeds and benefit integrations
- Issue resolution and data reconciliation
Workday HCM & Annual HR Cycles
- Configure and support Workday HCM business processes
- Support annual and recurring HR cycles, including:
- Performance review
- Merit and bonus cycles
- Compensation changes
- Maintain business process frameworks, condition rules, calculated fields, validations, and alerts
Configuration, Reporting & Security
- Perform independent Workday configuration across Benefits, Core HCM, and Recruiting
- Develop and maintain Workday reports and dashboards
- Manage security roles and domains related to benefits and HR operations
- Troubleshoot configuration and data issues with minimal oversight
Integrations & System Support
- Support benefits-related integrations, including vendor and carrier feeds
- Participate in testing, troubleshooting, and validation of inbound/outbound integrations
- Partner with IT, vendors, and HR COEs to ensure data accuracy and system stability

- Prior experience supporting organizations through a Workday tenant transition or ownership change
- Advanced Excel or data analysis skills

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $136000.00 - $154000.00/yr.
