Summary
The Executive Recruiting Specialist leads the identification, attraction, and hiring of senior leadership talent critical to advancing the Board’s mission and priorities. This role operates at the intersection of business strategy and talent, serving as a trusted advisor capable of translating business objectives into targeted executive search strategies that deliver high quality leadership candidate pipelines. As a critical member of the People, Strategy & Operations (PSO) team, this role demands a high sense of ownership and commitment to delivering results in high-impact and time-sensitive situations. The incumbent is primarily responsible for leading full-life cycle recruitment for senior leadership vacancies at the Board of Governors, occasionally providing backup support for non-executive hiring as section work demands necessitate. To do this, the Executive Recruiting Specialist operates both strategically and tactically, bringing market intelligence, talent insights and disciplined sourcing methods to guide clients seeking to fill high impact roles. The incumbent will proactively identify, engage, and maintain relationships with executive talent through research, networking, referrals, and online platforms, serving as a compelling ambassador for the Board’s mission, culture, and leadership value proposition. The incumbent will exhibit executive presence, business acumen, high touch relationship management and consultative skills, and uncompromising confidentiality and discretion with hiring managers and job candidates. Additionally, the incumbent will collaborate with various stakeholders and PSO centers of excellence to ensure successful executive placements and onboarding. The incumbent is expected to operate with a high degree of responsiveness to meet business and leadership needs in a dynamic environment, demonstrating agility in response to time-sensitive priorities and executive schedules that may extend beyond traditional business hours.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Establishes rapport and partners with customers to develop comprehensive knowledge of their business needs, drivers, and competency needs of executive leadership.
- Serves as Recruiting subject matter expert and consults with clients, business partners, and workforce planning professionals on current and future hiring needs for executive and critical senior management positions.
- Develops and executes full-life cycle executive job searches, with possible non-executive searches as section work demands fluctuate.
- Designs and implements innovative sourcing techniques to identify applicants and recruiting leads using technology, social media, employee referral networks, conferences, and focused networking with contacts at relevant financial and regulatory associations and other professional institutions.
- Advises hiring managers in the design of accurate job descriptions.
- Creates interview materials and oversees hiring manager and team interview process and schedule with candidates.
- Problem solves effectively through any challenge encountered during the search.
- Assists and advises clients in assessing candidates to ensure qualification match, cultural fit, and compatibility; also conducts reference checks.
- Cultivates a deep understanding of the Board’s public and political environment and leverages this knowledge to design and implement targeted executive search strategies.
- Prepares and extends job offer package to successful candidate and offers guidance and facilitates the negotiation process to completion and assists with successful candidate’s transition and onboarding. Researches competitors and market place to stay informed and in front of emerging trends and practices.
Position Requirements
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 6 years related experience (FR-27)
- Proven track record of successfully filling leadership roles, exhibiting keen talent assessment and judgment capabilities.
- Exceptional communication, influencing, negotiation and high touch relationship-building and management skills.
- Incumbent must demonstrate executive presence and exhibit complete mastery of the executive level sourcing and placement process, acting as the resident expert on this topic at the Board.
- A mastery level knowledge of related Human Resources Management practices such as Workforce Planning, Succession Planning, Leadership Development, Executive Compensation and Organizational Design as well as current market pricing for Executive-level talent.
- Proficient in working with applicant tracking technology such as Oracle/Taleo and Workday recruiting.
- Demonstrates strong business acumen to include quickly learning and assimilating complex technical and business requirements into executive
- Strategic thinking and the ability to handle and reconcile conflicting information and requirements effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, competing priorities, and challenging situations professionally. Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
