We’re Hiring: HR Manager
Museum of Illusions is looking for an experienced and people-focused HR Manager to support our growing network of museums across the United States. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-location environment and enjoys partnering closely with operational leaders to create exceptional employee experiences.
As a key member of the HR team, the HR Manager will oversee day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, onboarding, and HRIS management while serving as a trusted advisor to museum leadership teams. This position also supervises the HR Associate and plays an important role in ensuring consistent HR practices across all locations.
What You’ll Do
HR Operations & Employee Relations
- Manage daily HR operations, employee relations matters, performance management support, and compliance initiatives.
- Maintain employee records and documentation in accordance with company policies and employment laws.
- Support investigations, disciplinary actions, leave administration, onboarding, offboarding, compensation, and benefits processes.
- Partner with museum leadership to provide guidance on HR policies and best practices.
- Supervise and support the HR Associate.
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Coordinate recruitment and hiring processes.
- Support hiring efforts for new museum openings, including participation in in-person hiring events.
- Ensure smooth and compliant employee lifecycle processes from onboarding through separation.
Benefits Administration
- Oversee employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Oversee Workday benefits administration and invoice reconciliation.
- Support open enrollment, 401(k) administration, and compliance reporting.
Training & Employee Engagement
- Coordinate onboarding, training, and development initiatives.
- Support employee engagement programs that strengthen culture, morale, and retention.
- Deliver HR guidance and support to employees and managers across museum locations.
Workday HRIS & Reporting
- Maintain data accuracy and system integrity within Workday.
- Generate HR reports and workforce analytics to support operational decision-making.
- Collaborate on HR process improvements and system enhancements.
What We’re Looking For
- Must be comfortable serving as the primary Workday administrator for day-to-day HR functions.
- Ability to maintain and update Workday business processes as needed highly desired.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5 years of HR generalist or HR management experience
- Experience supporting multiple locations and field-based teams preferred
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Physical Requirements/Demands
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to type on a keyboard, use a laptop and other office equipment.
- Must be able to properly express oneself, exchange information, communicate and converse with diverse cultures, races, and sexes.
- Must be able to use sight to detect, determine, perceive, observe, inspect, and assess situations.
- Travel required.
