We are partnering with an established organization in Houston that is seeking an experienced Workday Integrations Developer to join their internal Workday team. The organization has built a highly customized Workday environment, with a significant investment in bespoke integrations and automation. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting, enhancing, and evolving these solutions while helping shape the future integration strategy.
The Role
As the Workday Integrations Developer, you will be responsible for the administration, support, enhancement, and development of a mature Workday integration landscape consisting of approximately 100 integrations developed since the organization's Workday launch.
You will work closely with HR stakeholders and business leaders to ensure integrations continue to operate effectively while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability across the platform.
This role would suit someone who combines strong technical Workday expertise with a solid understanding of HR processes and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain a large portfolio of existing Workday integrations across the enterprise.
- Design, build, test, troubleshoot, and enhance complex Workday integrations.
- Develop and support advanced Workday Studio integrations, including highly customized solutions built from scratch.
- Administer and optimize approximately two dozen custom Studio integrations.
- Partner with HR and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Monitor integration performance and proactively resolve issues to ensure business continuity.
- Participate in integration strategy discussions and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Contribute to future initiatives involving emerging Workday technologies and capabilities.
- Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer to support long-term sustainability of the Workday environment.
Required Experience
- 4+ years of hands-on experience developing and supporting Workday integrations.
- Advanced proficiency with Workday Studio.
- Strong experience building and maintaining custom integrations from the ground up rather than relying solely on packaged solutions.
- Experience with:
- EIB
- Core Connectors
- Workday Web Services (WWS)
- XML/XSLT
- REST and SOAP APIs
- Integration troubleshooting and support
- Experience with Workday Orchestrate and a demonstrated ability to develop and support orchestration solutions.
- Strong understanding of integration lifecycle management, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Functional knowledge of Workday HR business processes and operations.
- Experience partnering closely with HR teams and understanding how technology supports employee lifecycle processes.
- Exposure to Workday Extend development.
- Previous experience supporting a highly customized Workday environment with a large integration footprint.
