Job Overview
The Compensation Analyst supports the design, administration, and continuous improvement of North America compensation programs. This role will partner with Human Resources, business leaders, and the Total Rewards team to ensure compensation programs are competitive, equitable, and aligned with business strategy.
The Compensation Analyst provides analytical support for base pay, incentive compensation, job architecture, salary structures, market pricing, and compensation planning. Through data analysis and business partnership, this role helps attract, retain, and motivate talent while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and compensation governance.

Job Responsibilities
- Support the administration of annual merit, bonus, and salary planning processes across North America.
- Conduct market pricing and compensation analyses using external salary surveys to evaluate market competitiveness and internal pay equity.
- Coordinate annual participation in compensation surveys and maintain market data from multiple survey providers.
- Analyze compensation trends and develop recommendations for hiring offers, promotions, transfers, market adjustments, retention requests, and organizational changes.
- Evaluate new and existing positions using established job evaluation methodologies and support the development and maintenance of job architecture and career frameworks.
- Assist with the design, maintenance, and governance of salary structures, pay grades, and compensation ranges.
- Support the administration of variable pay and incentive compensation programs, including calculations, validation, reporting, and auditing.
- Partner with Human Resources Business Partners and business leaders to provide compensation consultation, education, and guidance on compensation-related matters.
- Prepare compensation models, business cases, reports, dashboards, and presentations using large datasets to support informed business decisions.
- Present compensation analyses and recommendations to HR leadership and senior business leaders.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and provincial compensation regulations, including FLSA, pay transparency, equal pay, and salary disclosure requirements.
- Maintain the integrity of compensation data within Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and related platforms.
- Support acquisitions, reorganizations, workforce planning initiatives, and other strategic compensation projects.
- Identify opportunities to automate compensation processes, improve reporting capabilities, streamline workflows, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Participate in special Total Rewards projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field required.
- Three or more years of progressive compensation experience in a corporate environment.
- Experience administering annual merit, incentive, and salary planning programs.
- Experience conducting market pricing, salary survey participation, and compensation analysis.
- Experience evaluating jobs and supporting job architecture or career framework initiatives preferred.
- Experience supporting salary structures, pay ranges, and compensation governance preferred.
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, Oracle, UKG, or similar HRIS platforms preferred.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification or progress toward certification is a plus.
Knowledge & Skill
- Strong understanding of compensation principles, including market pricing, salary structures, job evaluation, incentive compensation, and pay administration.
- Knowledge of pay transparency legislation, equal pay regulations, FLSA, and compensation compliance requirements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, and complex data analysis.
- Experience working with large datasets and developing meaningful business insights.
- Data visualization experience using Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and recommend practical solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present analytical findings to Human Resources and business leadership.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
