As a mid or senior accounting and financial reporting specialist on the Reinsurance Accounting team, you'll execute and account for low- to medium-complexity reinsurance contracts. In this role, you’ll support financial reporting through journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and close analyses. You'll monitor contract, accounting, and reporting changes to ensure compliance with internal SOX controls and regulatory requirements. You'll work with large and complex data sets and investigate historical financial information from multiple sources to support accurate reporting and business decisions. You'll collaborate with internal and external partners, research accounting and regulatory guidance, support auditor and examiner requests, and contribute to process improvements that drive accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
This is a remote position for US-based work only. Occasional travel to our corporate headquarters in Mayfield Village, OH is required for meetings and/or training.
In addition to the minimum requirements for the role, the candidate must meet requirements to work in the General Ledger. Those General Ledger requirements include the completion of Principles of Accounting I and II -or- Financial Accounting I and II.
Minimum qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field of study (e.g. Finance) and a minimum of 2 years of accounting work experience
Preferred skills
-
Experience working with quota share and XOL (excess of loss) reinsurance contracts

Experience using Workday, reinsurance systems (e.g., Prima XL), and SAP BusinessObjects

Strong proficiency in Excel and SQL, with the ability to research, analyze, and interpret complex data

Comprehensive knowledge of Schedule F and related reporting schedules
Compensation

$61,300 - $98,700/year

Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 24% or 30% (depending on position level) of your eligible earnings based on company performance
