Client needs an experienced Workday Supply Chain Subject Matter Expert paricularly in the areas of Workday Inventory and Workday Procurement to ensure that the Workday implementation/system is successfully implemented and utilized effectively within the organization. The candidate must have Workday Inventory and Procurement Experience, no exceptions. It is strongly desired that the candidate have Healthcare experience.
This role involves deep expertise in specific Workday Core Inventory and Procurement functionalities, and the SME serves as a trusted advisor for best practices, implementation, and ongoing support. The role is for the 6 months beginning ASAP.
The candidate must have experience in:
- Configuration experience with Workday Inventory and Procurement Business process design.
- Workday Design Decisions
- Integration Designs
- Various Testing Cycles i.e., End to End, Unit and Tenant Validation
Expected Deliverables:

- Provide test program management and instructional support as required
- Assist with the identification of required end-to-end test scenarios, including those with cross-functional impacts
- Assist in the development / enhancement of the end-to-end testing scripts
- Assist with the logging and resolution of defects as appropriate
Job Responsibilities:
1. Expert Knowledge
- Deep Understanding: Maintain a thorough understanding of the Workday Inventory and Procurement modules, functionalities, and features relevant to the Finance organization.
- Industry Trends: Familiarity with industry best practices for leveraging financial systems effectively.
2. Consultation and Guidance
- Advisory Role: Provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders regarding Workday configurations, processes, and optimizations.
- Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with business units to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring they align with Workday capabilities.
3. Implementation Support
- Configuration Assistance: Assist in the configuration of Workday modules, ensuring that they meet business needs.
- Testing: Support the testing process by developing test scripts, participating in E2E Testing and user acceptance testing (UAT), and validating results.
4. Training and Development
- User Training: Develop and deliver training materials and sessions for end-users, ensuring they are equipped to use Workday effectively.
- Knowledge Transfer: Share knowledge and expertise with team members and other stakeholders to build internal capability.
5. Change Management
- Support Change Initiatives: Help manage the change process by communicating the benefits of Workday and addressing user concerns or resistance.
- Feedback Mechanism: Gather feedback from users to identify pain points and areas for improvement.
6. Documentation
- Process Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user guides, training materials, and process maps.
- Best Practices: Document and share best practices for using Workday within the organization.
7. Continuous Improvement
- Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within Workday.
- Upgrade Support: Assist in planning and implementing system upgrades or enhancements, ensuring that new features are effectively utilized.
8. Troubleshooting and Support
- Issue Resolution: Act as a point of escalation for complex issues that arise, providing expertise to resolve them efficiently.
- Ongoing Support: Provide continuous support to users post-implementation, ensuring smooth operation and addressing any ongoing questions or concerns.
9. Collaboration
- Cross-Functional Work: Collaborate with IT, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment and integration of Workday with other systems and processes.
- Vendor Liaison: Serve as a liaison between the organization and Workday or implementation partners for ongoing support and updates.
The candidate must:
- Have Healthcare Experience
- Understand Workday Inventory and Procurement particularly when it comes to the implementation of these various areas.
- Proven Track Record: Experience managing large-scale projects.
- Previous experience with at least 8 years of experience as a Finance Subject Matter Lead
- Hands-on experience with Workday Inventory and Procurement implementations, including managing or participating in at least 3 full-cycle Workday deployment (from planning to go-live).
- Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications in specific Workday modules are crucial. These certifications demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Workday functionalities.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Workday's technical aspects, including reporting, integrations, and security configurations.
