About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Financial Operations Consultant with deep expertise in settlement processes and credit union accounting to support our member institutions during system conversions. This role focuses on delivering specialized training, guiding onboarding, and ensuring smooth transitions to our clients settlement platform.
This is a high-impact position requiring a professional with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. Experience with Omaha Settlement is critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Conversion Analysis
- Perform a detailed review of the member credit union’s general ledger (GL) system to assess readiness for conversion. Provide expert consultation on how to map their GL accounts to the Velera settlement system.
- Client-Facing Consulting
Serve as the primary point of contact for credit union staff, addressing settlement-related questions, issues, and providing expert-level guidance throughout the onboarding process.
Develop and facilitate structured training sessions for credit union teams. Deliver hands-on support before, during, and after conversion—typically with two weeks of daily post-conversion support.Analyze clients’ charts of accounts and recommend optimal practices for recording settlement transactions in their general ledger.Monitor and respond to open support tickets submitted by financial institutions, helping to resolve issues related to daily settlement activities.Review and advise on operational procedures, helping to reduce financial liability through better practices and adherence to settlement protocols.Suggest updates and improvements to training content in partnership with the Creative Media Services and Training teams, ensuring materials are current and effective.Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 7+ years of credit card industry experience.
- Minimum 5 years of Omaha Settlement experience (required).
- 4 years of Credit Union/Banking industry
- At least 3 years in the Visa/MasterCard industry, including experience with credit, debit, and stored value card services.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a remote environment.
- Strong research and problem-solving capabilities.
- Professional, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Workday and FDR systems.
- Knowledge of accounting principles related to GL reconciliation and financial reporting for credit unions or banks.
