Job Description
We're seeking a hands-on Workday Developer to build, configure, and optimize our Workday Human Capital Management and Core Compensation systems. This technical role requires a developer who can write code, create custom integrations, develop complex reports, and implement advanced system configurations. You'll be responsible for the technical development and enhancement of our Workday platform while collaborating with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Development & Technical Implementation
Custom Development: Build custom integrations using Workday Studio, Core Connectors, and Cloud Connect
Report Development: Create complex custom reports, dashboards, and analytics using Workday Report Writer and calculated fields
Configuration Development: Develop and implement business process frameworks, calculated fields, and custom validations
Data Management: Build and maintain EIB templates, data conversion scripts, and automated data validation processes
API Integration: Develop REST/SOAP web service integrations with external systems
Custom Objects: Design and build custom objects, fields, and business processes to meet unique business requirements
System Architecture & Optimization
Integration Architecture: Design and implement integration patterns between Workday and third-party systems
Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize report performance, integration efficiency, and system responsiveness
Data Modeling: Design data structures and relationships within Workday to support business processes
Security Implementation: Develop and configure domain security policies, role-based permissions, and data access controls
Automation Development: Build automated workflows and business process improvements
Technical Problem-Solving
Troubleshooting: Debug complex integration failures, report issues, and system configuration problems
Data Quality: Develop data validation rules, error handling procedures, and data cleansing processes
System Monitoring: Build monitoring solutions for integrations and automated processes
Technical Documentation: Create detailed technical specifications, integration guides, and development standards
Collaboration & Requirements Analysis
Requirements Translation: Work with business users to translate functional requirements into technical specifications
Solution Design: Architect technical solutions for complex business process requirements
Code Review: Review and optimize code developed by team members and external partners
Technical Mentoring: Provide technical guidance to junior developers and business analysts
Pay rate: $72-$75

Skills and Requirements
Technical Skills
Workday Development: 3+ years of hands-on Workday development experience including Studio, integrations, and custom reporting
Integration Development: Strong experience building REST/SOAP APIs, web services, and system-to-system integrations
Programming Languages: Proficiency in XML, XSLT, XPath, and experience with JSON and scripting languages
Database Skills: SQL expertise for data analysis, extraction, and integration development
Report Development: Advanced skills in Workday Report Writer, calculated fields, and dashboard creation
Workday Expertise
Core HCM Development: Deep technical knowledge of Workday HCM configuration and customization
Compensation Development: Experience developing compensation plans, calculated fields, and eligibility rules
Security Configuration: Hands-on experience with domain security, role-based access, and permission frameworks
Data Conversion: Experience with large-scale data migrations and conversion processes
General Technical Competencies
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and version control systems
Understanding of enterprise integration patterns and best practices
Ability to work independently on complex technical challenges

Workday Certifications: Workday HCM, Integration, or Report Writing certifications
Advanced Development: Experience with Workday Extend, Prism Analytics, or Workday Adaptive Planning
Enterprise Experience: Background in large-scale enterprise system implementations
Retail/Multi-location Experience: Understanding of complex organizational structures and multi-entity reporting
Agile Development: Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies Workday Certifications: Workday HCM, Integration, or Report Writing certifications
Advanced Development: Experience with Workday Extend, Prism Analytics, or Workday Adaptive Planning
Enterprise Experience: Background in large-scale enterprise system implementations
