Manager, Compensation & Benefits (Workday & HRBP Experience)

The Manager, Compensation & Benefits is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing competitive compensation and benefits programs that support business strategy and talent objectives. This role partners closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs), Finance, and business leaders, and serves as a subject-matter expert in Workday for compensation and benefits processes, reporting, and system optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Compensation
- Design, implement, and manage compensation programs including base pay, incentive plans, and bonus structures
- Lead annual compensation cycles (merit, bonus, equity), including planning, modeling, and execution in Workday
- Conduct job evaluations, market pricing, and benchmarking to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness
- Partner with HRBPs and business leaders on compensation decisions, offers, promotions, and pay adjustments
- Develop compensation guidelines, policies, and governance frameworks
Benefits
- Manage health, wellness, retirement, and other employee benefit programs
- Partner with external vendors and brokers to ensure cost-effective and competitive offerings
- Oversee annual benefits open enrollment and ongoing employee communications
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, local labor laws)
Workday Management
- Serve as Workday functional lead for Compensation and Benefits modules
- Configure, maintain, and optimize Workday business processes, eligibility rules, and compensation plans
- Partner with HRIS and IT teams on system enhancements, testing, and releases
- Develop dashboards, reports, and analytics to support decision-making
- Train HRBPs and managers on Workday compensation and benefits processes
HR Business Partner
- Act as a strategic advisor on compensation and benefits matters
- Support workforce planning, organizational design, and talent initiatives
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to business leaders
- Participate in cross-functional HR projects and change initiatives
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive experience in Compensation & Benefits
- Hands-on experience managing Compensation and Benefits in Workday
- Strong experience partnering with or working as an HR Business Partner
- Deep knowledge of compensation principles, benefits design, and regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
