About the Role
A leading financial services firm is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Vice President, Human Resources to join its growing team. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving HR operations, enhancing the employee experience, and supporting the firm’s people strategy. The AVP will oversee critical HR functions including payroll, onboarding, benefits administration, talent programs, and Workday optimization.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Onboarding Operations
- Lead full lifecycle payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
- Oversee end‑to‑end onboarding processes, partnering with internal stakeholders to deliver a seamless new‑hire experience.
- Maintain and enhance payroll and onboarding workflows within Workday.
Benefits Administration
- Manage benefits programs, including enrollment, eligibility, and vendor coordination.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, providing clear and timely communication.
- Support annual open enrollment, benefits education, and ongoing employee communications.
Talent Management & Recruitment
- Oversee people management processes, including performance cycles, employee relations, and development initiatives.
- Lead recruitment efforts across the firm, partnering with hiring managers to identify and attract top talent.
- Manage internship programs, including program design, recruitment, onboarding, and engagement activities.
HR Systems & Workday
- Leverage Workday to streamline HR processes, improve data integrity, and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Identify opportunities to optimize system functionality and support HR technology initiatives.
Qualifications
- 4–10 years of progressive HR experience, ideally within financial services or a similarly regulated industry.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing, benefits administration, and HR operations.
- Hands‑on experience with Workday
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Experience managing or mentoring junior team members is a plus.
