Overview
Seeking a Senior Benefits Systems & Leave of Absence (LOA) Partner on a 6-month contract to support the transition of an acquired company on U.S. benefits and leave programs.
This role will play a critical part in ensuring a smooth operational transition across benefits enrollment, leave administration, and benefits systems integration. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in U.S. benefits operations, leave management, and Workday Benefits systems, with experience supporting benefits migrations, implementations, or open enrollment rollouts.
This position will work closely with internal HRIS and benefits teams, external vendors, and our broker partner Newfront (WTW) to ensure accurate benefits administration and a seamless employee experience during the transition.
Key Responsibilities
Melio Benefits & Leave Transition
- Support the transition of acquired employees onto U.S. benefits programs, ensuring accurate eligibility, enrollment, and payroll deductions.
- Lead operational support for new hire enrollment, including auditing enrollment data and eligibility files.
- Coordinate the transition of leave of absence programs and third-party leave administrators, ensuring continuity of service and compliance.
- Serve as a key operational partner supporting employee benefits and leave inquiries during the transition period.
Vendor & Broker Partnership
- Partner closely with Newfront (WTW) to support benefits administration and carrier coordination.
- Assist with vendor implementations, including carrier connectivity, eligibility file validation, and data reconciliation.
- Ensure vendors and leave administrators are aligned with the company's operational standards and compliance requirements.
Benefits Systems & Workday Implementation
- Support the transition of benefits administration from PlanSource to Workday Benefits.
- Audit and validate Workday benefits enrollment EIBs and eligibility data.
- Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for benefits implementations and enhancements.
- Partner with HRIS teams to ensure accurate data flow between Workday, payroll, and benefits carriers.
Benefits Administration & Compliance
- Support the administration of U.S. benefits and leave programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Assist with complex leave cases in partnership with internal teams and third-party leave administrators.
- Ensure accurate benefits data management and reporting throughout the transition.
Qualifications Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience in U.S. benefits administration, including health and welfare programs.
- 2+ years of Workday Benefits experience, including benefits administration and system support.
- Participation in at least two Workday implementations, benefits migrations, or open enrollment rollouts.
- Experience supporting benefits system integrations, eligibility file audits, and enrollment data validation.
- Experience managing or coordinating leave of absence programs and third-party leave administrators.
- Experience supporting benefits transitions during M&A or organizational integrations.
- Familiarity with PlanSource and Workday Benefits administration.
- Experience working with benefits brokers or consulting partners such as Newfront (WTW).

- Deep understanding of U.S. benefits administration and leave compliance.
- Exceptional attention to detail in benefits data validation, enrollment audits, and systems testing.

- Strong problem-solving skills in fast-moving implementation environments.
