Our client is a rapidly growing global organization undergoing a major digital transformation across its finance and technology landscape. The Workday Financials team has evolved into a highly collaborative, business-aligned function operating within a hybrid Agile/Scrum environment. They are seeking a consultative, technically strong Senior Workday Financials Analyst to support a post-production environment and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Position Summary
The Senior Workday Financials Analyst will play a critical role in supporting and optimizing Workday Financials, with a primary focus on Accounts Payable (AP) and General Ledger (GL), and secondary exposure to Accounts Receivable (AR). This individual will operate in a hands-on capacity, balancing system configuration, break/fix support, and strategic enhancement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Workday Configuration & Production Support (40%)
- Perform hands-on configuration and troubleshooting within Workday Financials
- Provide break/fix support and resolve system defects across financial modules
- Support post-production operations following recent system implementations
- Troubleshoot and support integrations (EIBs)
- Assist with Workday security configuration and access controls (SOX-aligned)
- Execute system updates tied to reconciliations and process improvements
Research, Optimization & Automation (40%)
- Investigate financial discrepancies and perform root cause analysis
- Support and enhance financial reconciliation processes
- Identify and drive automation opportunities, primarily within AP
- Design and implement system enhancements and optimizations
- Document configurations, solutions, and process improvements
- Evaluate system behavior and integration issues prior to implementing fixes
- Contribute to backlog grooming and sprint planning in a Scrum environment
Stakeholder Engagement (10%)
- Partner with Finance stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements
- Provide consultative guidance and recommend best practices
- Collaborate with AP, AR, and GL teams to improve processes and system usage
Team Collaboration & Agile Participation (10%)
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
- Provide status updates and collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams
Required Qualifications
- Strong Workday Financials experience across multiple modules
- Deep expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) and strong knowledge of General Ledger (GL)
- Exposure to Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Strong accounting foundation with ability to analyze journal entries and discrepancies
- Hands-on configuration experience within Workday
- Experience troubleshooting integrations (EIBs)
- Knowledge of Workday security and SOX compliance
- Strong consultative communication skills
- Willingness to travel up to 25% (passport required or obtainable)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with financial reconciliations and automation
- Exposure to Workday Adaptive Planning
- Agile/Scrum experience
- Workday Studio experience a plus
