Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Services and Bookkeeping Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll processing, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and maintaining compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Responsibilities
- Process payroll using industry-leading software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments for all employees
- Perform detailed account reconciliations, including general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable management, and double-entry bookkeeping procedures
- Maintain precise records of journal entries, debits & credits, and benefits administration activities in compliance with organizational policies
- Manage data entry tasks related to payroll transactions, tax filings, and financial reports with high accuracy using accounting software like QuickBooks or PeopleSoft
- Support benefits administration processes by updating employee records and processing changes in HRIS systems
- Assist with non-profit or governmental accounting functions as needed, ensuring adherence to specific regulations and reporting standards
- Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and implement corrective actions promptly
- Collaborate with human resources to ensure accurate employee information updates and support HRIS integration efforts
Skills
- Extensive experience with payroll management systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos or Ceridian
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, PeopleSoft or UltiPro for bookkeeping and financial tracking
- Strong understanding of financial concepts related to general ledger accounting, journal entries, debits & credits, and account reconciliation
- Knowledge of benefits administration processes and tax compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability in data entry with high accuracy (10 key typing skills) and attention to detail
- Familiarity with non-profit accounting standards and governmental reporting is a plus
- Excellent analysis skills for financial data interpretation and problem-solving in payroll processes
- Ability to perform double-entry bookkeeping accurately while managing multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across finance and human resources teams
