HR Operations Manager
The HR Operations Manager leads day‑to‑day HR operations with primary ownership of HR systems (Workday & ADP) and benefits administration. This role partners closely with Payroll and the broader HR team to ensure accurate employee data, compliant processes, and a strong employee experience across the full employee lifecycle.
This position plays a key role in driving continuous improvement across HR workflows, managing vendors, resolving system issues, and delivering meaningful reporting and insights to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as primary owner for Workday (Highly proficient in Workday) and ADP, ensuring data integrity, consistent processes, and effective system utilization
- Administer core employee lifecycle transactions, including hires, job and compensation changes, terminations, and organizational updates, in alignment with policy and audit requirements
- Partner with HRIS/IT to support workflow configuration, eligibility rules, security roles, and system enhancements; coordinate testing and validation
- Manage system updates and releases, including impact assessments, user communications, job aids, and training for HR partners and managers
- Own end‑to‑end benefits administration, including eligibility, enrollments/life events, carrier file feeds, billing and premium reconciliation, and employee issue resolution
- Manage benefits vendors and broker/consultant relationships; support renewals, plan changes, and service‑level monitoring
- Partner closely with Payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions, arrears/retroactivity handling, audits, and resolution of pay‑impacting issues
- Design and maintain HR dashboards and reports (headcount, attrition, tenure, benefits participation, and other workforce metrics)
- Evaluate and improve HR processes, documentation, and controls to increase efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience
- Develop and maintain HR operational procedures and provide support for handbook and policy documentation as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of progressive HR operations experience with significant hands‑on responsibility for HRIS and benefits administration
- Demonstrated experience administering Workday (Highly proficient in Workday) and ADP (or similar HRIS/payroll platforms), including troubleshooting, audits, and end‑user support
- Strong working knowledge of benefits operations, including life events, carrier feeds, reconciliation, and vendor management
- Experience partnering with Payroll on deductions, reconciliations, and pay‑impacting transactions
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and interpret HR metrics and reports; advanced Excel skills preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and discretion when handling confidential information

- Compliance awareness: familiarity with ERISA, COBRA/ACA processes, HIPAA/privacy considerations
