Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Benefits Specialist to oversee the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs during a one-month coverage assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of healthcare and retirement plans, benefits compliance, vendor management, and employee support. This individual will serve as a key resource for benefits-related questions while ensuring ongoing operations continue smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer employee healthcare, retirement, and wellness benefit programs.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries and issue resolution.
- Coordinate with benefit providers, brokers, and third-party administrators.
- Ensure compliance with applicable benefits regulations and plan requirements.
- Support retirement plan administration, including 403(b) plans.
- Review and maintain benefit-related data, reports, and documentation.
- Assist with leave administration processes as needed.
- Utilize Excel and HR systems to manage benefit records and reporting.
- Partner with HR and payroll teams to ensure accurate benefit administration.
- Help maintain uninterrupted benefits operations during leadership transition.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in benefits administration, benefits management, or total rewards.
- Strong understanding of healthcare plans, retirement plans, and benefits compliance.
- Experience working with vendors, carriers, and third-party administrators.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Workday.
- Knowledge of regulations such as ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and related benefit requirements is highly preferred.
- Must have access to and be comfortable using a personal laptop for the duration of the assignment.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
