Senior Timekeeping Specialist with a technologies company Virtual in IL. This is a 6-month contract with a potential for extension.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.

Description:
The Senior Timekeeping Specialist owns the day-to-day management of timekeeping remediation and escalation activities. This role ensures consultants can access and complete time entry, monitors for missing or incomplete time, and drives follow-up and escalation as needed to resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Missing Time Remediation- Own the ongoing remediation of missing time, including triage, outreach, tracking, and closure of items across the backlog
- Execute a structured approach to work through current and historical missing time
- Document outcomes, unresolved issues, and items requiring escalation or decision
- Provide direct support to contractors via phone and email, addressing time entry questions, resolving issues, and guiding completion of required time submission.
Timekeeping Escalation Management- Manage timekeeping escalations end-to-end
- Ensure consultants understand time entry expectations and complete required actions
- Initiate and drive escalation when time is not entered or remains incomplete
- Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve issues impacting time entry
Access and Issue Resolution- Identify and track issues preventing time entry, including access, provisioning, or data-related blockers
- Partner with appropriate teams to remove barriers and restore time entry capability
- Monitor for recurring issues and flag patterns for follow-up
Compliance Monitoring and Follow-Up- Monitor time entry activity to confirm completion
- Perform targeted follow-up with consultants and stakeholders where time is missing
- Apply consistent escalation practices when expectations are not met
Operational Reporting- Maintain tracking of missing time, active issues, and escalation status
- Provide clear status updates on backlog progress, aging items, and unresolved blockers
- Highlight items that require additional support or decisions
Scope and Boundaries- Accountable for day-to-day execution of remediation, monitoring, and escalation activities
- Not responsible for financial outcomes, policy decisions, or upstream process ownership
Success Measures- Reduction in aged missing time items
- Timely follow-up and closure of escalations
- Improved consistency in time entry completion
- Clear and accurate status visibility on outstanding work
Core Skills and Capabilities:- Strong follow-through and attention to detail
- Ability to manage high-volume operational work
- Clear communication and persistence in follow-up
- Ability to coordinate across teams to resolve issues
Qualifications:- College degree preferred; high school diploma required.
- 4+ years of experience in timekeeping, payroll support, workforce administration, HR operations, or a related operational support role.
- Experience managing high-volume workloads while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to professionally follow up and escalate issues with employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other workforce management, timekeeping, HRIS, or ticketing systems.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Experience supporting contingent workforce programs, MSP environments, payroll operations, or timekeeping compliance processes.
- Familiarity with timekeeping systems such as Workday, SAP, Kronos/UKG, Beeline, Fieldglass, or similar platforms.
