Workday Business Systems Analyst

Position Overview
Client is seeking a Workday Business Systems Analyst to join its HR Systems team. This role is focused on Workday reporting and data analysis across multiple functional areas such as Recruiting, Payroll, Compensation, Performance, and Learning. The ideal candidate will have strong Workday reporting expertise, attention to data integrity, and the ability to partner with HR and business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights through customized dashboards and reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Workday custom reports and dashboards across HCM functional areas (Recruiting, Payroll, Compensation, Learning, Performance, etc.)
- Conduct report audits and cleanup to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data
- Collaborate with HR stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver meaningful analytics
- Manage and organize data within Workday and related databases, ensuring each team has tailored reporting views
- Create and maintain supervisory organizations, templates, and configuration values (as required for business process updates)
- Support and maintain templates for Compensation Reviews, Performance Reviews, and Goal Setting
- Assist in the design and documentation of business processes and reporting structures
- Work with HRIS specialists to support configuration changes by providing requirements and testing support
- Partner with leadership to improve data-driven decision-making and develop strategic HR metrics
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on Workday experience, primarily in reporting and analytics. Experienced with Report Writer and Report Designer.
- Strong understanding of Workday HCM modules such as Core HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, and Absence Management
- Experience creating Advanced, Matrix, and Composite Reports in Workday
- Proficiency in data validation, auditing, and cleanup processes
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a matrixed environment
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in non-profit or higher education environments
- Familiarity with Workday security roles and business process frameworks
- Exposure to Workday Extend or Prism Analytics is a plus
- Strong understanding of HR data structures and compliance reporting requirements
