Moving Sales & Dispatch Coordinator
Company: Bird Dog Moving and Logistics
Compensation: Commission-Based — Commission Per Sale + Dispatch Compensation
Schedule: Flexible / Based on Business Needs
Job Summary
Bird Dog Moving and Logistics is seeking a motivated, organized, and dependable Sales & Dispatch Coordinator to become an important part of our daily operations.
This is a hands-on position combining moving-service sales, customer communication, scheduling, dispatch, and crew coordination. The ideal candidate is comfortable speaking with customers, following up on leads, closing sales, staying organized, and communicating important job information to moving crews.
This is not strictly a sales position. You will help coordinate the transition from customer inquiry → estimate → booked move → dispatch → completed job.
The position is commission-based, with compensation opportunities for both successfully booked moves and dispatch responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Respond to new customer inquiries and moving leads in a professional and timely manner
- Speak with prospective customers by phone, text, and email
- Gather accurate information regarding inventory, addresses, access conditions, stairs/elevators, specialty items, requested services, and scheduling
- Prepare and send moving estimates based on company pricing guidelines
- Follow up on outstanding estimates and prospective customers
- Convert qualified leads into booked moving jobs
- Maintain accurate customer and job information within company systems/CRM
- Schedule confirmed moving jobs and maintain the operational calendar
- Dispatch moving crews for scheduled jobs
- Provide crews with all pertinent job information before departure
- Communicate pickup and delivery addresses, customer contact information, inventory details, specialty items, access conditions, service requirements, and other important instructions
- Coordinate with crew leaders throughout the workday regarding job progress, delays, changes, or customer concerns
- Communicate schedule changes and operational updates to customers when necessary
- Assist with coordinating long-distance and interstate moves
- Verify that required customer information and moving paperwork are completed before jobs are dispatched
- Maintain communication between customers, management, drivers, and moving crews
- Help resolve routine scheduling and operational issues
- Escalate customer complaints, claims, pricing disputes, or significant operational problems to management
- Assist management with improving sales, scheduling, dispatch, and customer-service processes
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can sell while also staying highly organized.
You should be comfortable managing several moving jobs and customer conversations at the same time without losing track of important details.
Strong candidates will have:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong phone and customer-service skills
- Sales ability and confidence asking for the customer's business
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate effectively with moving crews and drivers
- Ability to remain professional when schedules change or problems arise
- Basic computer, email, texting, and CRM skills
- Reliable availability and communication
- Ability to learn moving-industry terminology, pricing, inventory procedures, and company policies
Previous experience in moving, transportation, logistics, dispatch, inside sales, customer service, trucking, home services, or operations is preferred but not necessarily required for the right candidate.
Compensation
This position is structured around performance.
Compensation includes:
Sales Commission: Commission earned on qualifying moving jobs successfully booked and completed.
Dispatch Compensation: Additional compensation for qualifying jobs successfully coordinated and dispatched.
Specific commission percentages, dispatch compensation, eligibility requirements, cancellation policies, payment timing, and other compensation terms will be provided in the written compensation agreement.
There is significant opportunity for the right person as our sales volume and operations continue to grow.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this position means more than simply closing a sale.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of a customer's move from the initial inquiry through dispatch by ensuring that the customer knows what to expect, the paperwork and job information are accurate, and the moving crew has the information necessary to successfully perform the job.
The right person will become a key part of Bird Dog Moving and Logistics' daily operations.
Apply
Please submit your resume along with a brief explanation of your experience with sales, customer service, dispatch, logistics, or moving operations.
We are especially interested in candidates who are comfortable working in a performance-based environment and who enjoy both closing sales and coordinating operations.
