The role
Greenbrier is building its team for a Department of Veterans Affairs cybersecurity program. The Program Manager will own day-to-day delivery, staffing, schedule, risk, quality, and customer coordination. This person must be able to lead experienced architects and engineers while keeping commitments, decisions, and dependencies visible.
What you'll do
- Serve as Greenbrier's primary delivery lead and coordinate closely with the VA Contracting Officer's Representative and program leadership.
- Build and maintain the Contractor Project Management Plan, integrated schedule, work breakdown structure, milestones, dependencies, risks, resources, and approved baseline.
- Run weekly delivery reviews and prepare concise progress reporting that explains completed work, planned work, schedule changes, issues, decisions, staffing, level of effort, and Section 508 status.
- Turn customer priorities into clear assignments for security architecture, engineering, AI assurance, data protection, compliance, and emerging-technology workstreams.
- Maintain an active risk, issue, decision, action, and dependency process; assign owners, set due dates, and escalate early when VA action or third-party input is needed.
- Manage key-personnel continuity, onboarding, access, training, and role qualifications so the team is ready to work when access is granted.
- Review deliverables for accuracy, completeness, traceability, and customer readiness before release.
- Coordinate travel, meetings, briefings, and ad hoc data calls while protecting the team's delivery commitments.
- Use performance data and customer feedback to improve delivery methods throughout the period of performance.
Required qualifications
- At least 10 years of information security experience, including at least 5 years of cybersecurity and cloud security work at a large Government agency comparable in size or scope to GSA, IRS, DoD, or VA.
- Demonstrated project-management, security-architecture, and security-engineering experience, including the ability to translate customer requirements into executable team direction.
- Experience managing IT and cloud design, security, development, systems engineering, and implementation efforts.
- Experience delivering security solutions in federal or commercial environments.
- Hands-on knowledge of federal assessment and authorization and Authority to Operate activities.
- Knowledge of FedRAMP, the Risk Management Framework, and applicable federal cybersecurity policies, processes, and standards.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, information assurance, information security, information resource management, or a related field.
- One or more of the following: PMP, IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III qualification/certification.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience leading a multidisciplinary federal cybersecurity team with firm-fixed-price deliverables.
- Experience with VA or another cabinet-level civilian agency.
- Working knowledge of enterprise architecture, Zero Trust, continuous diagnostics and mitigation, high-value asset assessment, incident response, or penetration testing.

- Staffing, access, schedule, and dependencies are managed before they become delivery problems.
- Deliverables arrive on time and need little rework because quality checks happen before submission.
Work arrangement and conditions
- Full-time role; contingent upon contract award and customer approval.
- U.S.-based remote work from a Greenbrier-approved work location. Routine onsite work is not expected.
- Availability during VA core hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on normal federal workdays.
- Occasional travel or onsite support for kickoff and other Government-directed events, with Washington, DC anticipated as the primary location.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the Tier 4/High Risk background suitability determination and VA access required for the role.

Pay: $123,765.23 - $149,050.59 per year
