They are currently looking for a skilled Workday Extend Engineer for a 90-day contract engagement. In this hybrid New York City-based role, the engineer will lead the development and deployment of custom applications within the Workday ecosystem. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of Workday Extend and related technologies, who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and building custom solutions using Workday Extend, integrating APIs, and working closely with internal stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical outcomes.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with Workday Extend application development and deployment
- 5+ years of software development experience for enterprise SaaS applications
- Strong knowledge of Workday Studio, Workday Cloud Platform SDK, and Workday APIs
- Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with Workday data models and business processes
- Experience with REST, SOAP, Graph, XML, and JSON integration technologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Comfortable working independently and within a team
- Experience with Git or other version control systems
- Adaptable and quick to learn new technologies
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and deploy applications using Workday Extend
- Develop and maintain integrations between Workday and external systems
- Gather requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications
- Produce detailed design documentation including process flows and data models
- Conduct unit, integration, and user acceptance testing
- Optimize application and integration performance
- Troubleshoot and support Workday Extend applications
- Follow Workday best practices and security standards
- Provide documentation and knowledge transfer to internal teams
Preferred
- Workday Extend Developer certification
- Familiarity with additional Workday modules (e.g., HCM, Finance)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and security practices for API integrations
- Understanding of employer benefits and benefits enrollment workflows
