Position: Benefits Administrator
Contract: 3 months contract (extension and perm possibility)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Mon-Fri) ; 40hrs/ weekly

Summary:
The main function of a Benefits Support is to administer benefits enrollment, termination and Qualified Life Event (QLE) changes. A typical Benefits Support colleague is responsible for processing enrollments, terminations and QLEs in Workday and following up with colleagues for missing or incomplete documentation. It also includes responding to Zendesk tickets with benefits questions from colleagues, managers or HR.
Job Responsibilities:
• Advise managers and employees on state and federal employment regulations, collective agreements, benefit and compensation policies, personnel procedures and classification program.
• Evaluate job positions, determining classification, exempt or non-exempt status, and salary.
• Prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions and salary scales.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining personnel records and handbooks.
• Prepare reports, such as organization and flow chards, and career path reports, to summarize job analysis and evaluation and compensation analysis information.

• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
Prior experience with Benefits and/or HR administration
• Technical skills and proficiency with current, new and emerging human resource information systems (e.g., Workday), particularly system navigation and self-service functionality as well as Benefits modules
• General knowledge of regulations governing Benefits particularly Enrollment and Qualified Life Events as well as corresponding human resources policies and procedures
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of particular proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets (i.e. VLOOKUP's, pivot tables, etc.)
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Basic time management skills and strong organizational skills and punctuality for on-time attendance
• Teamwork and Collaboration skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience required.
• 0-2 years Benefits Administration related experience required.
