The Dean of the College of Liberal Arts is a strategic academic leader responsible for overseeing all academic and operational aspects of the College. Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean ensures that the College’s programs are innovative, market-relevant, and aligned with the University’s mission, accreditation standards, and institutional objectives.
Description of Essential Job Duties
Goals:
Develop and implement a forward-looking strategic vision that supports academic excellence, innovation, and enrollment growth within the College. Provide leadership, oversight, and strategic support to departments and programs within the College, ensuring quality and relevance in a competitive academic landscape. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and university leadership to expand curricular offerings that respond to emerging industry needs and technological advancements. Ensure the College maintains full compliance with all applicable accreditation standards and regulatory guidelines. Oversee and manage the College’s budget to ensure fiscal responsibility, resource optimization, and alignment with institutional priorities.
Responsibilities:

Ensure that academic programs offer rigorous, high-quality, and innovative learning experiences for students.

Oversee curriculum development, technology integration, and program assessment to enhance student learning outcomes.

Support in recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating faculty and staff to foster a positive and collaborative work culture.

Promote faculty research, professional development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Support the integration of research, leadership, and critical thinking skills into academic programs.

Foster a student-centered environment that promotes academic achievement, leadership development, and career preparedness.

Implement initiatives that enhance student retention, graduation rates, and post-graduate success.

Serve as a key member of the University’s academic leadership team, collaborating on institutional priorities.

Engage in University-wide initiatives that support faculty, student, and institutional development.

Represent the University at internal and external meetings, conferences, and events.

Serving on committees as assigned;

Job Requirements:
Required skills:

Demonstrated leadership in academic program development and faculty management.

Proven experience in teaching and leading

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to relate to and communicate with diverse students, faculty, staff, and external communities

Willingness to adopt and support a mindset that focuses on student success
Education and training:

Terminal degree or related experience closely tied to academic program

Academic leadership experience

Should be able to teach a variety of departmental course offerings
