We are seeking a Director of HRIS (Workday) to be based at our Dunwoody, GA corporate office who combines strategic vision with deep technical expertise to lead the end-to-end management, optimization, and governance of our Workday platform. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys thinking like a visionary product manager, partnering with stakeholders across the business, and continually improving systems to drive efficiency, insight, and business value.
This leader will oversee a core team of 5 and collaborate closely with IT, HR, Payroll, Finance, Operations, and external partners to deliver robust application management, user support, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate fully understands the Workday tenant, drives adoption of best practices, and leads the roadmap to maximize enterprise value.
This is an on-site position based in our Dunwoody, GA corporate office.
What You’ll Do Workday Platform Leadership
- Administer the Workday platform including Financials, HCM, Payroll, Advanced Compensation, Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits, People Analytics, Talent Management, Prism, and Workday Help to ensure stability, scalability, and business value.
- Plan, validate, and execute Workday releases and feature adoption, including release regression testing and coordinating UAT with business subject matter experts.
- Translate business strategy into a Workday roadmap and lead configuration, enhancements, and semi-annual releases.
Governance, Reporting, and Optimization
- Collaborate with the Workday Governance Committee to streamline processes, improve reporting, encourage adoption, and ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Determine advanced reports and dashboards required by business leaders and ensure strong data governance and security practices.
- Identify opportunities to optimize workflows and improve system performance across departments.
Integrations and Vendor Management
- Oversee existing integrations and guide the development of new integrations as needed.
- Manage relationships with Workday, third-party vendors, and certified partners.
- Manage third-party consultants, including assigning work and overseeing progress and deliverables.
Team Leadership and Support
- Lead and guide the technical team, including integration administrators, security administrators, and functional administrators.
- Coordinate user training and development, including Workday-offered training opportunities for technical staff.
- Oversee user support services, manage knowledge articles, and resolve escalated issues.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For Required Skills and Certifications
- Strong hands-on expertise in Workday HCM, Payroll, and Financials modules.
- Proven experience with Workday integrations, security, configuration, and reporting.
- Deep understanding of ERP systems and enterprise architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Workday certification required; Workday Pro or equivalent certifications are highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of the Workday tenant and enterprise system operations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Experience Needed
- 7+ years of experience as a Workday administrator, consultant, or technical lead, including at least 2 years owning cross-module responsibilities such as HCM and Financials.
- Experience managing large-scale Workday implementations or ongoing platform ownership in a multi-entity, multi-location environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, HRIS, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in hospitality or a similar service-driven industry is advantageous.
- Experience with AI/ML optimization in enterprise platforms is a plus.
