Title: Business Systems Analyst
Job Type: Contract
Contract Length: ~7 months
Pay Range: $80-100/hr
Target Start Date: ASAP
Work Location/Structure: Remote (PST Hours Required)
About The Opportunity
Our client, a leader in the Enterprise Software industry, is looking for a skilled
Business Systems Analyst to join their team for a ~7 month engagement. This project involves serving as the People Technology lead for a Global Payroll program, planning, coordinating, and delivering a multi-phase implementation and long-term optimization roadmap. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the Global Payroll program's People Technology stream, partnering with Payroll leadership to plan, coordinate, and deliver the roadmap.
- Translate Payroll and People Ops needs into scalable solutions by gathering requirements and converting business processes into clear functional/technical designs.
- Coordinate integrations between payroll and the broader enterprise ecosystem (e.g., Workday HCM, time/absence, benefits, finance/GL, identity/access, reporting/analytics).
- Own program documentation (including business requirements, process maps, data flows, and controls) ensuring audit-ready, compliant outcomes.
- Define and run the testing strategy (SIT/UAT/payroll parallel testing) to validate results and ensure a smooth cutover.
Required Skills & Experience:
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 12+ years of experience in business systems analysis / product ownership within People or enterprise systems, delivering outcomes in global, high growth environments.
- Deep expertise in leading global payroll technology initiatives end-to-end (implementation and/or major transformation) and a strong understanding of payroll processes and controls. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Experience with program execution (scope management, dependency tracking, risk mitigation) and proficiency with Agile or hybrid delivery models.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team, able to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
