Job Title: People Operations Specialist

Summary
We are seeking a skilled People Operations Specialist to join a fast-moving People Ops team in a contract capacity. This role is ideal for a strong HR generalist who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership of complex employee lifecycle work, and consistently delivers a high-quality, empathetic employee experience.
In this role, you will balance frontline employee support with high-touch, high-sensitivity work, including senior-level onboarding and complex offboarding scenarios. You will be trusted to handle confidential matters with discretion while helping bring clarity and structure to evolving processes.
What You’ll Do
Frontline People Operations Support
- Own employee lifecycle requests end-to-end in a queue-based environment, delivering timely, accurate, and high-empathy support
- Prioritize and manage multiple requests with strong follow-through and accountability
High-Touch & Sensitive Lifecycle Work
- Support senior leader (VP+) and confidential onboarding
- Execute complex terminations and offboarding scenarios with discretion and care
- Manage cases requiring investigation and coordination across Legal, People Business Partners, Payroll, IT, and other stakeholders
Operate in Ambiguity
- Take loosely defined problems and drive them to resolution by clarifying scope, risks, dependencies, and success criteria
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner closely with Regional People Operations Partners on ad hoc projects and regional priorities
- Coordinate with Legal, Payroll, Benefits, IT, and PBPs to ensure aligned execution and risk mitigation
Compliance & Operational Rigor
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and support global compliance requirements (e.g., Right to Work checks, policy escalations)
Process Improvement & Documentation
- Create and maintain SOPs, templates, and knowledge articles to standardize workflows and improve employee experience at scale
What You Bring
- 3–5+ years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, HR Generalist, or Employee Experience roles
- Experience supporting employee lifecycle operations in a ticketing or queue-based environment (ServiceNow preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-touch, sensitive, and confidential cases with professionalism and empathy
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve issues end-to-end
- Solid understanding of US federal, state, and local employment-related requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to employees, managers, and partners
- Comfort working with metrics and trend analysis to identify process improvement opportunities
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and HR systems (Workday preferred), with the ability to learn new tools quickly
