Position Summary
The Senior Director, HR Technology & Digital Transformation is responsible for leading the strategy, optimization, and governance of the organization’s HR technology ecosystem. This role leads the HR digital roadmap over core platforms including Workday, AI-enabled HR solutions, ATS, ServiceNow HR Service Delivery, and emerging HR technologies.
This leader will drive system-wide transformation to enable scalable operations, enhanced employee experience, data-driven decision-making, and automation across the HR lifecycle. The role partners closely with HR BHR and COEs, Shared Services, IT, Finance, Compliance, and business leaders to ensure HR technology investments directly support enterprise strategy, workforce transformation, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
HR Technology Strategy & Roadmap
- Own the enterprise HR technology strategy and multi-year digital HR roadmap aligned to business and workforce priorities.
- Translate HR and business strategy into a prioritized portfolio of technology initiatives and platform enhancements.
- Lead platform rationalization, integration strategy, and technical debt reduction across the HR tech ecosystem.
Platform Ownership & Optimization
- Must have strong Workday Experience**
- Ownership of core HR systems, including: Workday (HCM, Talent, Learning, Recruiting, Time, Absence, etc.)
- ATS and Talent Acquisition technologies
- ServiceNow HR Service Delivery / Case Management
- AI-enabled HR solutions and automation tools
- Workforce analytics, reporting, and data platforms
- Drive continuous optimization, configuration, and release management to maximize ROI and adoption.
- Establish best-in-class governance, change control, and platform standards.
AI, Automation & Innovation
- Lead the responsible adoption of AI and machine learning across HR use cases (e.g., recruiting, workforce planning, employee support, knowledge management, analytics, workflow automation).
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, IT Security, and Risk to ensure ethical, compliant, and secure use of AI.
- Identify and pilot emerging technologies to improve productivity, service delivery, and decision support.
Employee Experience & Service Delivery Enablement
- Enable a digital-first employee experience through self-service, automation, and omnichannel HR support.
- Oversee ServiceNow HRSD strategy to drive first-contact resolution, case deflection, and improved employee satisfaction.
- Partner with Shared Services to optimize workflows, SLAs, and service models enabled by technology.
Data, Analytics & Insights
- Enable enterprise workforce intelligence through integrated HR data, dashboards, and advanced analytics.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and architecture to support executive reporting, labor management, and workforce planning.
- Partner with Finance and Operations to align workforce and labor analytics with financial and operational outcomes.
Stakeholder Leadership & Governance
- Serve as executive business owner for HR technology investments and vendor partnerships.
- Lead cross-functional governance with HR COEs, IT, Finance, Compliance, and operational leaders.
- Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and performance management.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing HR Technology, Product, and Digital HR team.
- Establish product management, agile delivery, and continuous improvement disciplines.
- Build strong internal capabilities in system configuration, integrations, analytics, and AI enablement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Information Systems, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive leadership in HR Technology, Digital Transformation, or Enterprise Systems.
- Deep expertise leading Workday in a large, complex enterprise environment.
- Experience implementing and optimizing ServiceNow HR Service Delivery and ATS platforms.
- Proven experience building and executing multi-year HR technology roadmaps.
- Strong partnership model with IT, Security, Compliance, and Finance.
Preferred
- Healthcare, large health system, or highly regulated industry experience.
- Experience leading AI, automation, and advanced analytics in HR.
- Product management or agile delivery experience.
- Change management and large-scale transformation leadership.
