Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Recruiter or 1099 Subcontractor (10-20 hours flexible) with deep domain knowledge in laboratory informatics to join our People Operations team on a remote basis. This individual will own the full recruitment lifecycle for highly specialized consulting roles, including Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) consultants — one of the most technically nuanced and candidate-scarce specialties in the life sciences consulting sector. The ideal candidate brings an existing network within the lab informatics community, a sharp understanding of the technical competencies required for these roles, and the ability to engage passive candidates who may not be actively seeking new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing & Candidate Engagement:
Lead full-cycle recruiting for LIMS consultant positions, from intake through offer
acceptance
Proactively source passive candidates via LinkedIn Recruiter, industry forums, scientific
communities, and professional networks
Build and maintain a warm talent pipeline of LIMS professionals for current and future
hiring needs
Engage candidates with tailored outreach that demonstrates genuine understanding of
their technical background
Screening & Assessment:
Conduct in-depth phone and video screens to assess technical fluency with LIMS
platforms (e.g., LabVantage, LabWare, STARLIMS)
Evaluate consultant-specific competencies including implementation experience,
validation, client-facing skills, and domain expertise (pharma, biotech, CRO/CDO
environments)
Collaboration & Process:
Partner with hiring managers to develop accurate, compelling job descriptions for niche
informatics roles
Manage requisitions and candidate records within the company’s applicant tracking
system with timely and accurate updates
Regularly communicate pipeline status, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of recruiting experience with demonstrated success filling laboratory informatics or life sciences consulting roles
- Direct experience recruiting LIMS consultants or implementation professionals
- Strong understanding of the laboratory informatics ecosystem, including key vendors, platforms, and the consulting landscape
- Proven ability to source and engage passive, highly specialized technical candidates
- Familiarity with biotech, pharmaceutical, or CRO/CDO environments and their informatics needs
- Proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter and at least one ATS platform (e.g., Zoho, Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS, Workday)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to build credibility with technical hiring managers and candidates alike
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience at a staffing agency or consulting firm specializing in life sciences
- Existing network of LIMS consultants and implementation professionals
- Familiarity with regulated environments (21 CFR Part 11, GxP, HIPAA) and how they affect hiring requirements
- Experience recruiting for roles with both functional and technical dimensions (e.g. validation, configuration, data migration)
- Background or education in life sciences, chemistry, biology, or a related scientific field is a plus
This position is not eligible for benefits or 401(k) plan.
