The Planet Group is assisting our client with the hiring of a Direct Hire/Perm Workday HCM Director. Hybrid work environment (2-3 days in the office, flexible schedule), will require resources to live in Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX or Philadelphia PA areas. The client is NOT providing visa sponsorship.
Our client is looking for an experienced and client-focused Workday Lead consultant to join our team. As a Workday Lead, you will have the opportunity to wear multiple hats and help shape the vision of our newly formed Workday HCM Practice. You will be responsible for implementing Workday HCM solutions, working directly with clients, and providing expertise in Workday HCM functionality. Your consulting experience, in-depth knowledge of Workday HCM, and client relationship management skills will contribute to the success of our projects. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit with positive energy to drive to achieve results, a growth mindset, and focus on innovation.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and translate them into effective Workday HCM solutions.
- Configure and implement Workday HCM modules, including Core HR, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent, Absence, and Time Tracking based on client needs. Lead workshops and gather business requirements, process flows, and system design documentation.
- Conduct fit-gap analysis to identify areas of customization and develop solutions to address client-specific requirements.
- Advise clients on best practices for Workday HCM implementation and provide recommendations for system optimization.
- Design and build Workday reports, dashboards, and analytics to meet client reporting needs.
- Support client and data conversion teams in converting legacy data into Workday.
- Support integration teams in helping configure and test integrations between Workday and other systems.
- Assist in defining testing strategies, creating test scripts, and conducting system testing.
- Provide end-user training on Workday HCM functionality and assist with change management activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the implementation and post-implementation phases.
- Stay updated on the latest Workday releases, features, and functionality, and share knowledge with the team.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Assist in pre-sales activities, including participating in demos, proposals, and client presentations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience as a Workday Consultant, with a focus on Workday HCM implementations.
- Strong functional understanding of payroll processing and regulations
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integrations between human resources and other departments.
- Workday HCM, report writing certification(s) demonstrating expertise in Workday Payroll functionality or ability to obtain and retain appropriate certifications.
- Consulting background or experience working for a consulting firm or in a client-facing role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex business processes and translate them into Workday solutions.
- Knowledge of Workday security and role-based permissions.
- Experience with data conversion and migration in Workday.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively manage client relationships.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as required
