Custom Life Closets is hiring an Installer with the opportunity to grow into a Lead Installer role, owning the quality and execution of our luxury custom closet installations across Chicagoland and Southwest Michigan.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can execute installs efficiently, communicate professionally with clients, and maintain high standards of craftsmanship, cleanliness, and organization.
High performers will have the opportunity to step into a leadership position within 30 days.
Responsibilities
- Install closet and organizational systems (measuring, cutting, assembling, finishing) using detailed design plans
- Quality control: ensure every project meets Custom Life Closets craftsmanship standards before sign-off
- Jobsite operations: protect the home, maintain safety practices, manage cleanliness & leave the space spotless at all times
- Problem solving: handle field adjustments (out-of-square walls, leveling, scribing, plan clarifications) & communicate changes back to the office
- Communicate needs back to the office (missing parts, design questions, field adjustments)
Qualifications
- Previous experience in carpentry, cabinetry, or general construction
- Proficient with power tools, including saws and drills
- Basic English communication skills (reading and verbal)
- Willing and able to travel to job sites across Chicago, surrounding suburbs, and Southwest Michigan
- Own reliable transportation
- Detail-oriented and precise, with the ability to read measurements and follow plans
- Punctual, reliable, and well put-together at all times
- Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable being on your feet for the entire workday
Compensation
- $25–$30 per hour (based on experience)
- $100 bonus for your first completed installation
