Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Administrator to manage our payroll processes efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in payroll management systems and accounting software, along with a thorough understanding of financial concepts and human resources procedures. This role offers an opportunity to support our organization’s operational excellence by ensuring timely and precise payroll processing.
Duties
- Process payroll using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of employee hours, wages, benefits, and deductions through data entry in payroll and HRIS (Human Resources Information System) platforms.
- Reconcile payroll accounts regularly, including general ledger reconciliation and account analysis, to ensure data integrity.
- Administer employee benefits programs related to payroll, including deductions for health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits.
- Prepare journal entries for payroll transactions and ensure proper posting within accounting software like QuickBooks or Ceridian.
- Collaborate with the finance team to support governmental reporting requirements such as tax filings and compliance documentation.
- Assist with audits related to payroll and benefits administration by providing necessary documentation and analysis.
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes as needed, ensuring seamless integration with payroll activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing payroll using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or Kronos; familiarity with UltiPro or PeopleSoft is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of payroll management practices combined with a solid understanding of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar financial management tools.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing) and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of benefits administration processes and governmental tax regulations related to payroll reporting.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms and their integration with payroll systems.
- Strong analysis skills for account reconciliation, journal entries, and financial data review.
