Energy Fuels is a leading producer of critical materials, including rare earth elements and uranium, with a growing domestic and international footprint. We are seeking a Payroll & HRIS Manager.
The Payroll & HRIS Manager is responsible for overseeing all payroll operations and the administration, optimization, and integrity of the organization’s Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). This role ensures accurate and compliant payroll processing, maintains employee data integrity, manages HR technology initiatives, develops reporting and analytics, and partners with HR, Finance, IT and business leaders to improve operational efficiency and employee experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Payroll Management
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, including regular, off-cycle, bonus, and termination payrolls.
- Ensure payroll accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Administer payroll-related activities including earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and benefit adjustments.
- Manage payroll audits and reconciliations.
- Coordinate year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and reporting.
- Serve as primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries and issue resolutions.
- Maintain payroll policies, procedures, and controls.
HRIS Administration
- Manage the organization’s HRIS platform, ensuring functionality, data accuracy, and security.
- Configure and maintain employee records, workflows, security roles, and business processes.
- Lead HRIS upgrades, implementations, testing, and system enhancements.
- Partner with vendors and IT team to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, training materials, and user guides.
- Monitor data integrity and perform regular audits.
Reporting & Analytics
- Create and maintain standard and ad hoc HR and payroll reports.
- Analyze workforce, compensation, and payroll data to identify trends and support business decisions.
- Ensure compliance reporting requirements are met accurately and on time.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Stay current on payroll laws, tax regulations, labor laws, and HR technology best practices.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and organizational information.
Leadership & Process Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and system efficiencies.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, Benefits, and IT teams to streamline workflows.
- Participate in strategic HR and technology initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in payroll & HRIS administration.
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, wage and hour compliance requirements.
- Experience administering HRIS platforms, specifically Workday HR and ADP Workforce Now.
- Experience implementing and migrating HRIS platforms, specifically Workday HR.
- Experience supporting multi-state or multi-country payroll operations.
- Advanced proficiency with HR reporting and data analysis.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Certification.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
- Knowledge of data integration tools and reporting platforms.
Physical and Sensory Demands:
- Primarily office-based work involves prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and telephone communication.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
- Requires visual acuity sufficient to analyze data, review detailed reports, and prepare presentations.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and in group presentation settings.

Compensation Transparency (Colorado Compliance)
Salary Range: $100,000-115,000 annually.
Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
Bonus Eligibility: This position may be eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus.
