About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Workday Reporting Specialist to join our team in New York. This role is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of Workday reports and analytics solutions that support Finance, HR, and business operations across the organization. You will serve as a key resource for translating business data needs into actionable, scalable Workday reporting solutions, partnering closely with functional teams to deliver accurate and timely insights to leadership and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Report Development & Maintenance
- Design, build, and maintain Workday reports across a range of report types including Standard, Advanced, Matrix, Composite, and Trending reports
- Develop and maintain calculated fields to support complex reporting logic and business requirements
- Manage and optimize existing report library, ensuring reports remain accurate, relevant, and aligned with evolving business needs
- Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues, data discrepancies, and end-user inquiries in a timely manner
Business Partnership & Requirements Gathering
- Partner with Finance, HR, FP&A, Accounting, and other business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into effective Workday solutions
- Conduct requirements gathering sessions and document reporting specifications clearly and accurately
- Provide guidance and recommendations on best practices for Workday reporting design and data presentation
- Deliver training and documentation to end users on report usage and self-service reporting capabilities
Data Governance & Quality
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across Workday reports and dashboards
- Partner with HRIS, Finance Systems, and IT teams to maintain alignment between reporting outputs and underlying data structures
- Support data governance initiatives by identifying and flagging data quality issues within Workday
- Maintain reporting standards and naming conventions across the Workday tenant
Dashboards & Analytics
- Build and maintain Workday Dashboards and Worklets to provide leadership with real-time visibility into key metrics
- Support the development of operational and executive-level reporting packages
- Assist in the adoption of self-service reporting capabilities across business units
Workday Releases & Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate bi-annual Workday release updates for impact on existing reports and implement necessary updates
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, automation, and accuracy
- Stay current with Workday reporting capabilities, new features, and emerging best practices
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on Workday reporting experience
- Proficiency in Advanced, Matrix, and Composite report types within Workday
- Strong experience building calculated fields and report filters
- Solid understanding of Workday data sources, business objects, and data relationships across HCM and/or Financials modules
- Experience partnering with Finance, HR, or FP&A stakeholders to gather and deliver on reporting requirements
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy
- Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical reporting concepts for non-technical audiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data validation and analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Workday Prism Analytics, including data ingestion, pipeline building, and Prism-based reporting and dashboards
- Workday Reporting Pro certification or equivalent hands-on certification
- Familiarity with Workday HCM module configurations that impact reporting data structures
- Experience with Workday People Analytics or BIRT reporting
- Exposure to data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Experience supporting Workday implementations or report migrations
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, or a related field required
Location & Schedule
- Hybrid 3-days per week — New York City office
- Standard business hours, EST
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $115k-$135k depending on experience
- Annual performance bonus: 5% target
